Very poor water pressure in the sink; just a trickle. Shabby furniture. Stained carpet. Uncomfortable room in many ways. "

"Had such high expectations, none met. The room is very tiny. Bathroom door at foot of bed, no fan. When the faucet or shower was turned on in any nearby room, it was loud as though it was coming from my bathroom. Very loud pipes. No bathroom counter, no place to put used hand soap bar. Dirty hand towel taken but no clean one left (twice had to call desk). Bakery in lobby not anything special, after reviews thought it would be good. But it wasn’t. Room entry Doors slam if you don’t hold them, and each guest learns with a slam. Slow and tiny (4 person) elevator. Bed was fine but pillows were not. Got stiff neck two nights. Staff very friendly. "I’ve been staying at The Lucerne for over 25 years. The location is excellent. Two minute walk to the 1 train and. 10 minute walk to Central Park. The doormen are the most welcoming, kind, and friendly. Would not stay anywhere else. "

"This place doesnt have the best reviews but honestly the staff are real humans nice locals the bathroom and bed wss super clean . Its a rustic and old school hotel but for the price and location you cant go wrong . I would book again for sure . One thing i would mention if you book through a 3rd party the price does not include a resort fee per day which you will have to pay at check in . I was told to book through them direct next time ."

"The front desk staff is not very friendly at this hotel. We had a leak in our sink the first night of check-in and they did not even offer to change our room. I had to request the change and they did not even apologize for the inconvenience. The hotel needs a make over, everything felt old and dirtly."
