Newby Bridge Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A beautiful location, great food, GF options, really friendly and polite staff."

Lakeside Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"It’s a lovely hotel but there’s no gluten free main meal options on the room service menu. Also would it hurt to offer gluten free toast at breakfast? I received no help with finding my room which was on the 3rd floor and there was no sign for 3rd floor rooms. Even the lift said it only went to the 2nd floor, so better signage is necessary. Also could you put a bin outside the hotel, No one likes carrying all their rubbish up to the room when already carrying cases."

Lonsdale House Boutique Apartments

10/10 Excellent

"The apparment was beauiful.very clean and had everything u needed and more.the locaton was perfect everything on your doorstep.snd car park straight across road will be back"

The Swan Hotel and Spa

10/10 Excellent

"As always, our absolute dream place to go and relax and recoup. Whether it’s with family or as a couple, literally could not choose a place where the staff are welcoming, the restaurant is yummy and the rooms are fresh and bright. The added addition of access to the spa with a splendid room is also an additional treat. Great time as always!"

Whitewater Spa & Leisure Club

10/10 Excellent

"A lovely hotel with attached leisure facilities. A beautiful, peaceful setting next to a river. A former mill with an interesting history and a motor museum within easy walking distance. Room was spacious and clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Both breakfast and evening meal were very good. Restaurant and bar staff were very attentive. We went in the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, all a very high standard. An excellent stay in an idyllic setting. Would highly recommend this hotel"

Hill Crest Country Guest House

10/10 Excellent

"From the minute I arrived, nothing was too much trouble for Jane, the lady who ran the Hillcrest Country Guest House. I was a bit optimistic about staying in a guest house, and not a hotel, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I stayed in the grey room, which was spotlessly clean, and had all the usual comforts of a hotel room, and more. The bed was super comfortable, which guaranteed I got a great night's sleep every night. There was a tea pot available know the room, to make a cup of tea each morning, and plenty of tea bags, sugar and milk to go with it. There wad a fridge in the room too. The breakfast each morning was amazing, you send Jane a text message each evening and let her know what you want, and she makes it for you, and serves ot you, freshly made in the beautiful dining room. I even was offered scones and jam, on the first day I arrived, courtesy of Jane, which was a lovely gesture. The guest house is a short drive from Ulverston, which I travelled to to get food for an evening meal, and take it back to the guest house, Jane provided me with a plate, and cleared up the packaging afterwards. I often travelled to other parts of the lakes in my car, which I was able to park on the driveway, as it wasnt far at all from where I was staying. I will definitely be booking again to come back soon, rather than go into a hotel, it's the little comforts, I received that made all the difference, and made sure I had an unforgettable experience."

The Sun Inn

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were amazing, so welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely. The hotel is undergoing an upgrade and we enjoyed delightful and unusual decor in a room that has just been decorated. There is a lively bar downstairs which we were warned could make the rooms noisy but we really just hardly heard the music in the background and it didn't go on very long anyway. Didn't eat there as we had other plans so can't comment. Free easy flexible parking on site."

Premier Inn Ulverston

"The hotel was great but getting taxis when there is a large retreat at the Budist temple can be challenging"
