First, I'll list the things that we found annoying, but weren't dealbreakers:
- No microwave in the double queen room
- No in-room coffee either, when that was on the room description (there was a gooseneck kettle and tea available)
- The shower showed its age taking forever to go from way too cold to way too hot and then getting to a sweet spot
- We didn't have any face cloths provided to us past the first day
- It would be nice for there to be a system for ordering room service, with such a nice bar and kitchen set-up
- The air conditioning in the room was on when it didn't really need to be, which led to it turning on and off every few minutes, which made getting to sleep without earplugs frustrating
Things that were great:
- I was nervous about getting the breakfast package through Expedia, but it turned out to be an AWESOME deal. They recently updated the breakfast menu, and you really can't go wrong with any of the choices. It would be nice to see some veggie substitutions available, like avocado on the eggs benedict.
- The staff was generally awesome. They seem to have a good rotation going, and we only had one server who seemed a bit slow on the uptake. The bartender one evening was especially sweet and helpful.
- The location is impossible to beat. Right close to the Subway, just down the way from the Eaton's Centre, and important for travellers: super close to Union station.
- The interior design of the hotel is impeccable. It's a beautiful spot to stay and chat.
