This place is a HUGE hidden gem! From start to finish, the service, staff, spa, value for money, everything was fantastic! We have stayed in many many hotels in the UK and this hotel has to be our favourite. The secret garden spa for an extra £25pp is worth every penny! I stayed here with my partner for a wedding. I got here around midday and fro that point onward everything was fantastic. All of the staff here were so friendly and accommodating, even arranging taxis for us and then keep an eye on them to arrive while we had a beer. Had a really lovely night's stay. The bed was really comfy, the room was clean and well equipped, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good pub food with massive portions and very reasonable. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is peaceful and in a lovely setting right opposite a beautiful old church.

this is a great option for a visit to Durham if you are prepared to stay outside of the city. Best value for money I have experienced in a long time . Breakfast fantastic something you would pay in excess of £12 in other accommodation Sonia and the rest of her staff are very welcoming . There is only one place I will be staying should I visit the area in the future

A great property with leisure facilities and parking close to Durham (<10 minute drive or park and ride opposite carriageway) Room was lovely but surprised no air conditioning or fridge and it did get a little hot overnight

If you are looking for a safe secure location close to all major amenities. This place is ideal very clean and the staff are very friendly indeed,parking right outside so you don't have to walk far to get to your vehicle. Will definitely be booking another stay in the near future.

Very nicely situated in a quiet village area 3miles from the town centre. Large car park at the rear and easy access to a bus service outside. Clean pub and rooms of a reasonable quality. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Well priced.
