"Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment. Restaurant closed and full of rubbish bags, lobby smells like something has died, fire doors wedged open and many interior windows broken."

"it was a really nice stay. the room was lovely, marks here and there so needs a bit of reno but apart from that, bed was comfy, the receptionist at the desk was lovely and helpful, even put a cone on my reserved parking :) pleasant stay in the centre ! (shower door wouldn’t close which was frustrating, but that just goes with needs a bit of reno!)"

"Absolutely unique hotel, purchased as a family home. The staff are actually household staff of the owners and very helpful and friendly. We stayed in room 117, this is where A A Milne stayed and wrote some of his books! Full of history and if you have time ask for a tour of the artist studios."

"Very clean and comfortable. Inside was well maintained. The only criticism was the outside such as balcony needed some maintenance and updating"

"Our 3 bedroom barn lodge was clean, warm and cosy throughout. Beds were comfy although a little small (double beds in 2 out of 3 rooms) put in the rooms quite small so would only fit in double beds. Bathrooms were spotless. Sofas were huge and comfy. Had a really enjoyable day and would come back again."
