"Outstanding Value - in terms of its proximity to the temple and the quality of the room."

"Amazing Staying"

"The environment is nice."

"Nice place"

"Ideal location set close to train station and temple. Staff helpful, one spoke good English. Hotel is in dire need of re-furbishment. Comfy mattress, decent aircon, WiFi adequate. Decor not great, old fashioned. Toilet and shower desperately needs refurb. Was clean but old stains remain that can’t be removed from cleaning."

"Clean room, very helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast. We had a great stay."

"Perfect for night life, including shopping and dining. Near famous temple. Wonderful friendly staff."

"Gateway Madurai was like a paradise found in the busy streets of Madurai. The hilltop location provides a view of the entire city and the drive into the hotel is full of lush greenery and wildlife. The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant offers excellent options. The staff made our stay perfection from the start. Highly recommend"

"Helpful staff, location is close to some modern and traditional dining restaurants"

"The hotel staff took extra effort to arrange breakfast for us for next day as were leaving early. They packed our breakfast nicely and kept it ready by the time we came to the lobby. They also helped with roll out beds for one of the rooms."

"Ok for a night stay"

"Good value for money, decent breakfast, and wholesome lunch.. Friendly staff always willing to help"

"Excellent hotel!"

"Grotty place in poor condition, but walking distance to the temple and station. Door knob replaced by bolts. Paintwork very shoddy and unfinished. Although not expensive, hotels and boarding houses in the neighbourhood were offering rooms at a fraction of the price. I would never return. A small salute, however, to the nice young receptionist who arrived in the morning."

"Good breakfast"

"Great hotel for westerners near the temples"

"We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and welcomed by reception stuff. We had a problem with hot water in shower and it was solved by them very quickly, especially by mr. Jeyabalam who also helped us by finding transportation back to kochin. The restaurant in the hotel also very good and not pricy. All in all a good hotel with great location."

"There was lots of noise coming from the street. Hotel staff not very sympathetic."

"Staff were very courteous. Especially the restaurant staff. The restaurant menu selection was good. Prices reasonable. There was no sink in the restaurant for washing hands before or after meals."
