Perched on the 77th and 78th levels of the soaring Q1 Building, the SkyPoint Observation Deck offers panoramic views across one of Australia’s most loved coastlines. Recline at the deck’s café to experience uninterrupted views over a coffee, or visit in the evening to see the glittering city lights over a cocktail.
You’ll notice the Q1 Building standing high above the city skyline of Surfers Paradise. Take the express elevator and fly up 230 metres (754.6 feet) to the double-level SkyPoint Observation Deck. Take in 360-degree views through the glass windows, from Brisbane to the north, west to the Gold Coast Hinterland and south to Byron Bay. To the east, you’ll see the boundless horizon of the Pacific Ocean. Visual displays indicate the different regions.
Peer through high-powered binoculars to take a closer look at the surrounding skyline. Visit the Theatrette to watch The Birth of Paradise, a short film that highlights intriguing moments in the history of Surfers Paradise. Don’t miss Surf World, a display dedicated to the area’s surf culture. You can also check out the SkyPoint Weather Station, an interactive display and live weather feed. You might see a tropical storm rolling in on the radar before you see the breathtaking dark clouds appearing over the hinterland.
Take a seat at the Seventy7 Café & Bar and enjoy a meal while you check out the stunning vista. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the SkyPoint Observation Deck becomes a chic lounge bar, accessible only to adults over the age of 18. Sip a cocktail and see the constellations of city lights mingling with the starry night sky, as well as the dark ocean dotted with boat lights. The lounge bar regularly features local live music, fun-filled events and exciting DJs.
