"Hotel was decent for the price but rhe area is not that good. It is an industrial area and walking around there at night does not feel safe at all. The locality is not good at all. Scary."

"The property is very nice. I really loved the room! But there are caveats. The hotels in this area are simultaneously used to house transient individuals within the nyc shelter system. The area is extremely sketchy and if you’re not comfortable walking around being near drug addicts arguing and screaming at each other then it’s probably best not to stay in this area. I personally don’t care as long as my accommodation is nice and the inside of the building is safe, which it was. The subway is right around the corner so extremely easy to get too and from. I only stayed for a quick overnight and would not stay there for an actual vacation but would stay again for another night passing through . "

"I recently stayed at the Lotte Hotel New York for a girls trip, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. This hotel came highly recommended by a family member who frequently stays at both the Seattle and New York locations, so we went in with pretty high expectations. Right from the start, there were issues with the room. The shower wasn’t properly draining, which made it inconvenient to use, and to make matters worse, the shower head was malfunctioning and spraying water in an uncontrolled way. It made what should have been a simple, relaxing experience frustrating instead. The most concerning part of our stay, however, was when security attempted to enter our room unannounced. Thankfully, they were unable to get in due to the safety hatch on the door, but the situation was unsettling and unacceptable. When we brought this to the attention of the hotel staff, they showed little interest in addressing the seriousness of the issue. We were told someone would follow up with us, but no one ever did. Overall, the lack of responsiveness and concern from the staff, combined with the maintenance issues and the alarming security incident, left us extremely disappointed. We will not be staying here again in the future "

"I would not recommend making a reservation at this property. They do not have a front desk, which would normally not be an issue. However, they did not send us our access codes to get into the building, so we were stranded without a hotel. A full day passed and we never did receive the codes. They assured us they would send the access codes soon enough, but they never actually did. After reserving a room at another hotel at the last minute, I asked Expedia for a refund. They were able to contact the hotel, where they learned that the hotel did not have any clean rooms available, hence they did not give us the access codes. Fortunately I was able to get a refund. I believe this hotel is incredibly mismanaged, given our experience. We had previously stayed at this property when it was owned by Marriott (under the Sonder brand), and it was a great stay. I suspect this is where the high ratings come from. However, it looks like the new ownership is incompetent and has no issue taking your money when they have no rooms for you. I recommend saving yourself the stress of having to make a last-minute reservation at another hotel by avoiding this property altogether."

"Really had a comfortable time during our stay. The room is big and the beds an extremely comfortable. Different food options for breakfast, if you like eggs, you will love the hotel even more (hahaha). We look forward to staying again next time we are in New York"
