"Nothing major really! But on our second day we left the room at 9am, and when we came back from our day errance around 5.30pm to chill for a bit , the room has not been cleaned , the housekeeper then showed up at 6.30pm when we were relaxing before going back out for diner ... we refused service and had to ask for clean and dry towel...( that were provided instantly) Other than that weird housekeeping schedule .. and the fact the young staff at the desk was unable to give any information regarding , restaurants, Tram information or other classic tourist questions, the bed were super confortable , the location is perfect and we had a great time overall ..."

"The hotel is beautiful and well kept. We’ve stayed there before a number of years go and the hotel continues to be kept up to those standards. The disappointing part of our stay was that power went out for about eight hours in the block surrounding the hotel and there were no generators or other ways to power up and light the hotel. Under the circumstances one would expect some level of compensation or refund for those who endured this inconvenience for a long period of time, and despite my requesting it the hotel made no such concession. There wsn’t even an apolgy from the from the front desk. Upon request they said it was not their fault and that they provided a complimentary cocktail for those who asked. They added that the staff went theough the same inconvenience. This response does not seem commensurate with a hotel of this quality and magnitude. It seems tone deaf frnkly. I would recommend that the management of the hotel be a bit more considerate to their guests in these circumstances, even if the power outage was not the hotel’s fault."

"This is one of Amsterdam’s iconic, old school hotels. Ideally located within walking distance of all of the major museums, the tram stop in front makes it easy to get to the central train station and explore further afield, too. The staff is friendly and the bar and cafe are relaxing, with great food and creative cocktails. We loved it! Try to get a balcony room overlooking the canal."
