"We kind of a had a Transformer's experience with the Belmont - it was more than meets the eye. Upon arriving at the hotel, we got stuck behind a drug bust in the alley. While waiting to check-in, there was an unhoused person in the lobby being asked to leave. My husband wasn't thrilled about the hotel location, but the issues quickly resolved. The hotel is well-maintained, and the room was excellent: good size for a family of four, clean, well-decorated, and the choices for accommodations were all high quality (bed, bathroom fixtures, mini-fridge). We were on the 5th floor and just took the stairs for everything. If you can ignore some of the issues that come with being in the Entertainment District (drug use, open bottles, late night music, crowds), I think this is a fantastic oasis. The location was also perfect for walking to the BC Place arena, shopping, and eating. Parking was half a block away, but we didn't mind as it was gated and very safe."

North Vancouver Hotel

"My two sons (teen and young adult) and myself stayed at the North Vancouver Hotel for one night after seeing a concert in town. The neighborhood was not anything to write home about. I initially found it to be a little sketchy, but we had a very safe experience. We even caught the bus at the stop around the corner to get to our show in downtown. If you cared to explore the public transportation here, this is a convenient location to start. The bus took us to the train station and it’s a straight shot to downtown from there, maybe 10-15 minutes away. Traffic was quite heavy that day, so we were happy to avoid all that craziness. The room was clean and I didn’t get the icks like I have at other higher rated hotels. I found the beds comfortable..not too soft or too firm. Our room had small windows that you can open if you like. We traveled here in cooler fall weather and found the heater unit to be quite loud, but efficient! The noise didn’t bother us as we were so tired. The hotel offers a complimentary continental breakfast..parties, yogurt, pancake. Not the most healthy or filling fare and the coffee was pretty mid. For the price, it’s pretty much what I would expect. Bottom line if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable no frills stay, this is the spot!"
