"Lovely hotel with lots of character, great food and drink and wonderful staff. Our room was on the second floor with only stairs access, which may be difficult for some. It was a little dark in our room due to the trees outside and lighting configuration within the room. It was noticeably warmer on the second floor than the first or ground floor and, as lacking air conditioning, may become very hot in warmer temperatures. We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We would definitely book again."

"Lift "Out of Order", Jacuzzi "Out of Order", Chef "Out of Order". This is not a 4 star hotel, they seem to be struggling to maintain it and staff it sufficiently. After waiting one hour ten minutes for our food, two out of three meals were awful; dry, tasteless and covered in red chillies to disguise them. Most staff were lovely, they have a tough job there though."

"I liked the hotel overall and thought the staff were all really nice! The swimming pool and steam room were good and bar was nice too! The reception areas also nice! My issue however was we were given a room that absolutely reeked of dog! As we’d been to races and then went to health club we didn’t really notice until 10pm and couldn’t be bothered to change! Seems there had been a doggie convention there a few days before and although sanitised and clean the room really smelled! I’d give the hotel another go but dont think they should put guests in rooms until smell has gone ! I’d ask to move next time ! Bed was super comfortable though and I think overall was good value stay"
