Lovely small hotel perched above Funchal.

"A lovely small hotel situated above Funchal near the main cable car station. The views over Funchal to the sea are very special. Exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful staff. The breakfast is generous and varied. We had a comfortable and well equipped suite which had its own small balcony and a patio shared with a neighbouring suite. There is a useful inexpensive bus #22 that runs from outside the hotel into Funchal. There are a couple of things to be aware of. 1. The hotel is up on the hillside - if the cloud is low, you may be in it. 2. Madeiran roads can be narrow and winding with steep gradients. This includes the route to the hotel. The property sends helpful directions but take it slowly when you approach for the first time. It becomes much easier when you get used to it. I would happily stay at Babosas Village again."

"Our AC wasn't working as it should. It was just too hot in our room. Would be nice to have more times available for our shuttle bus since it's a bit far from city center. First shuttle bus it too late and later at night there is none. Parking is also limited. The staff is just wonderful. "
