Its difficult to find superlatives that match the enjoyment we had at the Albatroz. Its a stunning location and everything was right from the check-in to the check-out. The staff at the Hotel have a value set and desire to provide service that is matched only by 5 star establishments, and in my estimation this certainly is a 5 star Hotel. We plan to return, and frankly cant wait to do so. Go and enjoy!!

This was our first time in Funchal, but our choice of hotel was excellent. The suite was of a good size and well supported with equipment for our needs. The balcony was great, and we had a lovely view of the sea. It was a little noisier than we were expecting, but part of that was due to a nearby hotel being renovated. Nice resort hotel in the North West of Madeira, perfectly located for the natural pools. As an added bonus you get access to unlimited free day passes into the pools that require a paid ticket. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a friend call ahead (unknown to us) to tell them it was our honeymoon and they gave us a free bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture. We enjoyed our stay but did find a big disadvantage that as it was 3-4 miles inland from the express way on very difficult roads you didn't want to go into the town after dark. We stayed for 5 nights and had the most relaxing and lovely time. Nice promenade in front and 5 mins drive from airport. Make sure you book free transfer to Funchal at the reception. We loved the hot stone massage.
