Nice resort hotel in the North West of Madeira, perfectly located for the natural pools. As an added bonus you get access to unlimited free day passes into the pools that require a paid ticket. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a friend call ahead (unknown to us) to tell them it was our honeymoon and they gave us a free bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture. The restaurant is fantastic ,with gorgeous views and great food. We had a brilliant view over-looking the ocean...

The staff are courteous and friendly and helpful. If they were unable to help directly they could always advise where you might get the help you needed. We enjoyed our stay but did find a big disadvantage that as it was 3-4 miles inland from the express way on very difficult roads you didn't want to go into the town after dark. This meant that you ate in the hotel every night. The restaurant menu was very good although it was the same every night so you eventually ran out of choice. After...

There have been several extensions to this classic hotel built on the cliffside overlooking Funchal harbour. All tastefully done and very classy. The place to stay chosen by celebrities and royaltyas evidenced from the photos and memorabilia in one of the lounge areas. This hotel has a different restaurant for each meal as well as its own Italian restaurant with spectacular views in the grounds. The gardens are rightly famous and taking afternoon tea at Reid's is a treat for non residents as...

This hotel is simply perfection, accommodation, service, food and gardens marvellous

Its difficult to find superlatives that match the enjoyment we had at the Albatroz. Its a stunning location and everything was right from the check-in to the check-out. The staff at the Hotel have a value set and desire to provide service that is matched only by 5 star establishments, and in my estimation this certainly is a 5 star Hotel. We plan to return, and frankly cant wait to do so. Go and enjoy!!

Lovely break in this beautiful Hotel not too far from the center but just far enough for a stroll in the evenings.

This was our first time in Funchal, but our choice of hotel was excellent. The suite was of a good size and well supported with equipment for our needs. The balcony was great, and we had a lovely view of the sea. It was a little noisier than we were expecting, but part of that was due to a nearby hotel being renovated. I expect that rooms facing the interior of the hotel would be quieter. The ensuite was very practical and the rooms were cleaned each day to a very high standard. Towels were also...

Me and my partner had an amazing stay here! The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The hotel room was beautiful, as was the rest of the hotel. The food was delicious and we were spoilt for choice with the buffet breakfast. I also went to a yoga class one morning and really enjoyed it. Couldn't recommend staying here enough!

Hotel was very clean and staff where very friendly and helpful. The room we had was lovely on the 7th floor with a beautiful view of sea and sunrise. Would definitely go again.

We stayed for 5 nights and had the most relaxing and lovely time. Nice promenade in front and 5 mins drive from airport. Make sure you book free transfer to Funchal at the reception. We loved the hot stone massage. Food was awsome including the daily evetns at the bar e.g. parrot show, live music etc. Pick up a local bus timetable at the reception. 2 mins walk to the local bus stop going to Funchal,Airport and Machico beach. Local buses operates untill midnight (weekend 10:50). Make sure you go...

The Vidamar more than met expectation. We knew the location was good---i.e. walking distance into old town of Funchal -- as we have stayed in this area before. However, the Vidamar, was by far a superior hotel. We were welcomed warmly by staff, and that set the trend for the week. The food was exceptional, with so much to choose from. The main buffet restaurant, was well organised with dishes being refiled continuously, and the other optional restaurants we used were very good too. We...

Just the most tranquil, and wonderful stay.

We just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week at Quinta das Vinhas. The location is lovely - very peaceful, but not too far from the main routes round the island. Very impressed with the hard-working and helpful staff. The rooms aren't swanky, but have all you'd need - although another source of light would have been great, there were just two dim bedside lamps. Breakfast buffet was impressive, and my carnivorous husband loved the one night we ate dinner at the Quinta. My vegetarian option...

The hotel is in a good location near to the Lido complex and on the regular bus route into Funchal. Spotlessly clean in the room, lobby and the pool area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

This is the second time I stay at this hotel, staff were so friendly and very helpful.I have a small child, so I did not wanted to stay to high up so they accomodated to an even better and child friendly room, very confortable and clean on second floor where we all felt so welcoming. I definately recomend this hotel, very near to town, you can walk through promenade only takes 15 minutes, where you can enjoy and mesmerize the beautiful nature of Madeira: flowers, exotic trees, the views of the...
