This is my first time staying in Manhattan. The staff was friendly and accommodating for our stay. I’m thankful having the option to check-in my luggage before and after the duration of my stay. This made it especially convenient for me to explore the city while waiting for the room or my next destination. The room I had was clean and spacious enough for my party of 2. I liked that the bed stands had USB ports and outlets; I didn’t need to use outlets to charge anything. We were able to locate and use the complimentary Iron & board, this was a nice convenience to have in the room as well. The main issue I had was that we did not have much closet space to hang any clothes. My personal items felt scattered around, but we were able to make it work for our stay. The hotel lobby and hall ways feel like a tight fit, but I think the rooms themselves make up for it and are spacious and comfy. The Citadines hotel is conveniently located near all of the action. This is a safe and walkable location neighboring iconic spaces such as Times Square, Grand Central Station and Rockefeller Center to name a few. I’m not the best at navigation, but we were able to navigate to and from the subways with relative ease. We didn’t do any driving in NY, so I can’t comment on the parking. The hotel entry is located along a nice quiet street with local coffee and bar options, as well as some souvenir and hobby shops. I enjoyed my stay and am happy with my experience. My initial impression of this hotel was skewed by other people's reviews. As a result of reading so many good reviews, I actually cancelled my reservation at another hotel and booked at Citadine instead. When we arrived at the hotel around 1 PM, we were allowed to store our luggage at the front desk. I was surprised by the small space when I came out of the elevator on the floor of my room. When I turned on the bath tub, the knob came out immediately. Had to call the front desk twice and visit in person twice to get a status on getting it fixed. In response to my request for an ETA, the guy at the front desk seemed irritated and responded, "I have already asked the engineer about the problem and I am not him, so I don’t know how long it will take for him to come and fix it, maybe another hour or so." It wasn’t fixed until a couple of hours after my check-in, and we couldn't shower until then. I had a double bed room, and it was very small. Two people can’t even walk together; we had to rearrange our luggage to create walking space. There was no closet, just a few hangers. Another thing I noticed at the breakfast table: it's a grab-and-go, but we can sit and have it. There were no plates, so we had to use paper napkins and small packets to put our breakfast on. I also noticed mosquitoes and flies not only in the front desk area but on the floors too. On positive side , walking distance from Central Park Times Square , Rockefeller Center.

The property was in easy walking distance to the play we attended at the Belasco Theatre and other sights we wanted to visit like the New York Public Library and Radio City Music Hall. We were able to check in a little before 3:00 p.m. and very much appreciated the complimentary coffee and breakfast. Our room looked just like the picture online and we especially enjoyed the aesthetic of the bathroom and the environmentally friendly toiletries. It was $15 to rent a mini refrigerator, however, we were glad to have one in our room for the night.

Beds were clean and comfortable. The rooms are small and noise carries loudly through the halls. Breakfast area was always crowded and there wasn’t any food any time we attempted breakfast. Starbucks is across the street so we made do with that most mornings. Staff are very kind and helpful! The area is walkable and close to many amenities.

We will definitely be staying here again! The hotel was not only affordable, but it was very cozy and perfect for a weekend long visit! The location was great, and within walking distance to Broadway and Times Square. And the staff was AMAZING! The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, and just all around awesome people! Adding this hotel to one of our favorites!
