"Sheraton stay was lovely and special for a lot of reasons!! Although the beachfront rooms are not a thing here, kids would love this property - it has a gorgeous lawn for kids to play and nice outdoor play area! My 4 year old and 1 year old had lots of fun here. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable all the time. Food was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this property for families especially with toddlers / younger kids."

InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort, an IHG Hotel

"The staff were magnificent, all very helpful especially amen in the breakfast area. Food was great high quality with a good selection of European and Indian dishes. The facilities in the room were good with access to English language films and sport. It was a bit away from everywhere else and there could have been better facilities on the beach as the sea did look inviting. On the whole thumbs up all round. It is what I expect from a 5 star hotel. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Though the resort is on the beach the waters could be rough but the pool at the resort is absolutely hugh so it was like swimming at a beach. Close to the beach meant one could take quiet walks on the beach. Resort is just near Five Rathas and energetic tourists can walk to most of the sites as traffic is horrendous and grid locked. Amenities are great, rooms modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. Great choice of menu food day round. Buffet dinner at reasonable cost is fantastic. Staff, especially Kumar at the reception desk, was very helpful and attentive to guests needs. Room service is prompt. Kumar also organised transport for us to get to the airport. All in all wonderful, relaxing experience amongst bustling Mahabalipuram! Lovely quiet gardens to wander around as well."

Great venue & best food

"We had a one night stay here. This would be the BEST hotel buffet ever. We had the lunch & breakfast buffet. So much variety & most delicious food. The service is also very very good. Staff are attentive & are very eager to help. I would happily visit this hotel again & this time will stay longer. "

"If you think this is part of MGM group, it is NOT. It is a local MGM group that has taken the global brand and monetizing on it. The property by itself is not really bad. But they rate themselves as MGM global brand and charge premium like a 5 star Hotels and that is where the problem is. If they charge 1000 - 2000 rupees, $20 - $50 per night, it is not bad. But anything more than $100 per night is too much for this place. I actually wanted to cancel my second night. But the hotel did not allow that. They tried to upgrade and provided a few freebies. But in spite of all these, I would never stay there again. "
