"Room very clean, staff welcoming. Roof top terrace a bonus. 20 mins brisk walk to Ortigia. Plentiful breakfast but it would have been good to see real preserves and authentic pastries."

Staff were excellent; all were very helpful and professional. The rooms were spotless -although not perhaps as large as in more modern hotels. It's a fabulous old building which is full of history and is well maintained as are the grounds and the swimming pool. Breakfasts were good but the quality of the serve-yourself coffee from a machine left much to be desired. If you want a better quality one just ask a member of staff to get one for you from the machine in the bar. The restaurant food was...

This hotel was amazing. Excellent value for money, fantastic room and exceptional staff. Great location. Fabulous breakfast. I think it is quite small but had the feeling of a grand hotel. Stay there!

We chose this hotel as it is right in the middle of the archaeological area of Syracuse. It's away from the touristy Ortigia so there aren't as many restaurants close by, but breakfast is excellent and the hotel bar is no pricier than the local options. All the serving staff speak good English (our Italian is sparse) and are attentive/friendly/helpful/hard-working. We spent many evenings on the roof with the pool and bar. This was our first trip abroad so we were somewhat daunted but everyone...

Lovely hotel overlooking the marina with a short walk to all the best restaurants and main piazza, rooms are very comfy with a traditional italian feel to them, there's lots of selection at breakfast which is set out in the restaurant situated on the top floor with stunning views from the terrace, we did have an evening meal at the hotel which was top class with excellent service. A major plus for this hotel is the private beach, you pay €5 each for a return boat shuttle across the harbour to a...

Clean and comfortable. Nice welcome and spacious room. Breakfast is a little quirky as it’s all served à la carte. But there’s a good selection of items. I used the valet parking which took a long time to arrive when I was checking in but for check out the car was ready early. A nice stay. Would stay again.

Fantastic place - my favourite out of the four we stayed at in Sicily. The owners and staff are very warm and helpful - exceptionally so. The location is great - right in the middle of the restaurant and cafe area of Ortygia, with all key sights within easy walking distance. Depsite having a cafe in the same street, with windows closed it wasn't noisy at night (I'm a light sleeper - it was fine). They have commissioned a mural painter based in Rome to paint the ceilings of the rooms - ours was...

On our 7th visit to Ortiigia we could not book our usual preferred hotel and I remembered a friend had stayed here and so we booked.
A converted Palazzo built around a courtyard it also houses, in a basement, what is probably the oldest Mikvah in Europe.
The rooms are large and airy, ours was a small suite with a living room, compleate with a stone fire place, and terrace with views across the rooftops to the sea.
Very clean and comfortable, the whole building oozes charm and history.

Very nice old-fashioned hotel in Siracusa. Exceptionally convenient for both rail and coach connections. Ten minutes walk to reach Ortygia. Owners are always available and generous - thank you in particular for granting a very early check-in
