"Overall Experience: Average Overall, our stay was acceptable. My wife is a fan of La Quinta because of its pet-friendly policy, which is important to us since we frequently travel with our two dogs. However, I’ve been somewhat disappointed with the room quality during our last couple of stays at this hotel chain. During this stay, we stayed in Room 225, which was conveniently located near the entrance, making it easy to take our dogs in and out. Unfortunately, this location also meant more noise from guests entering and leaving the building. My biggest concern, however, was the strong smell of cleaning chemicals in the room. We experienced a similar issue during our previous stay at another La Quinta property. The odor was quite noticeable and affected our overall comfort. I hope the hotel management will take this feedback seriously and look into the cleaning products being used, as well as possible ways to reduce lingering chemical odors in guest rooms. We appreciate La Quinta’s pet-friendly accommodations, but improving room quality and addressing these concerns would make future stays much more enjoyable."

"Good Choice! The Quality Inn Benton - Kansas City South is a fairly nice motel. The staff was welcoming at 9:30 at night and my husband and I felt safe walking around the well lighted hotel for exercise at that hour. The lady at the desk warned us about traffic and the gentleman got us another room for on the first floor when he saw us having trouble carrying up our bags as there wasn’t an elevator. There were so many nice touches like two plugs in the bathroom and a power strip with openings to the maps and brochures of the area in the lobby to their good breakfast buffet that was a cut above other places I’ve stayed at. The atmosphere in our room was marred only by one broken floor tile and one cigarette burn on the bathroom counter. It was a lovely stay!"

"Clean room, nice staff. Some of the paint and trim is getting worn in some of the rooms. Small cobweb in one corner of the room. Stained grout on tub. Lots of loud squeaky doors on the second floor. Lots of thumping and stomping noise due to loud guests that were there for a youth soccer team meet over the weekend. Biscuits were not done at breakfast. Doughy, crumbly and not hot enough or fully baked. People would not line up in an orderly fashion at the breakfast area. It was a free for all! Stayed in October 2024 and hotel seemed to be in a little better shape 2 years ago."
