"Stayed for three nights in early April and had a great experience. The lodge is charming, with friendly staff and tasteful décor throughout. Our room was a comfortable size and included a mini fridge, and while there’s no in-room microwave, one is conveniently available in the lobby. The lobby itself is a highlight, perfect for families, with books, games, a cozy fireplace, and complimentary cookies. The patio is another excellent spot to relax, especially with the incredibly comfortable rocking chairs that make it hard to leave. The internet connection was surprisingly strong. It is an absolute lifesaver since we had no cellular service. The only drawback is the location which is about a 40–50 minute drive along a winding road to reach the General Sherman area of Sequoia National Park. That said, we would still happily recommend this lodge overall."

"I made my reservation over 6 months ago and when I checked in, the owner said there was no room available for me and he transferred me to his partner property, which is over 10mins away from river inn and literally at the edge of the town. I have been staying for two nights and already paid in full, but the second day my key didn’t work and the receptionist at the front desk couldn’t find my information in her computer. My information was logged in by the owner of River Inn during check-in and apparently there was no proper communication between them. "

"Simple and Clean property, Amazing location with nearby River. Quick drive to Sequioa national park, Bit expensive for a Motel. But cleanliness, Facilities are better than expected. Would recommend."

"AVOID THIS PROPERTY! I'm not one to write reviews, but people must be warned! We stayed in the "budget" cabin and had to check out a night early because it was so gross. The door to the outside did not seal, which let in a lot of bugs. The cracked front window from what looked like a BB was unnerving. The vanity lights and bathroom fan did not work at all and the lock on the bathroom window was falling off. The towels were so small that I initially thought they were the hand towels, and they smelled badly of cigarette smoke. They say they don't charge a cleaning fee, but the place really needs a deep clean. I was ghosted when I asked the host for a partial refund. "

"Shower drain had hair in it. Carpet tack strip with the nails was exposed on the floor in front of the bathroom. Surfaces were dusty. We chose this place based on the location but will not be returning."
