Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. Breakfast was excellent and very varied to others we had in Japan.
Room was good and a generous size. Ground floor didn’t have much light but that was okay as we were out all day.
Only negatives, only one chair in room and not many places to be comfy and relax. No bath. Laundrette was not nearly big enough, turned out to be very...

Stayed at the Ohanabo Hokkaikan for two nights, and when we arrived, we were greeted by the sweetest people. They took our luggage to our room whilst we were sightseeing as we arrived early, and upon returning they brought us tea and sweets to welcome us back.
They have a public Bath which was very relaxing and we tried dinner at the Ryokan.
Seriously... The Best Japanese experience.
The futons were laid out for us for the evening which were very comfortable.
Breakfast was again very...

A serene, modern, and stylish place with a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. Located in a quiet area of the city yet still easily accessible to all the main attractions. The beautiful garden and surrounding grounds are perfect for peaceful morning walks, and the elegant breakfast was a lovely way to start the day. I would definitely recommend it.
