"Great hotel for kyoto travel! right next to kyoto station so easy transport from the bullet train"

"This hotel is in a wonderful location. Easy walk for many restaurants and tours close to the river. It's easy to catch a cab to go to other places. The staff was very friendly and informative, probably the best aspect of this hotel. The WiFi in the room was terrible. Mostly I gave up and used my cell service but I had to add more data on at a cost. The restaurant/bar wasn't available in the evenings. So, we couldn't meet in the bar for a drink before dinner. Although it's very common in the hotels we stayed in, I find it annoying that they won't come in and make your bed. I didn't want the sheets changed every day, but part of the enjoyment of being at a hotel is coming back to a bed that's made and I wasn't the one doing it. Here you could request full service or nothing. All in all I would probably stay here again because of location and staff. You should just know what you're getting."

"Very nice hotel, excellent central location (easy to walk around Kyoto), great breakfast. Only negative would be room details on Expedia-advertised as 3 twin beds, shows picture of small couch and some floor space. Also says “sleeps 6”. I was trying to book a room for 4 people (2adults/2older kids)-entered 3 adults in Expedia and 1 (11yr) old child-figuring there must be option for futon on the floor or fold out couch for 4th person, and that Expedia would not let me book if the bed arrangement would not work for 4 people. The hotel did email after I had booked to let me know 2 people would be sharing a twin bed, and said that occupancy of 6 in the room was based on 2 people sharing each of the 3 twin beds (no futon/tiny couch-no pullout)—which is not reasonable for many people booking for 4 people. So just be careful about reading the listing info at top (and ignoring the sleeps 6 part)."

"Hotel is right in the most action-filled areas of Kyoto, but as soon as you enter the lobby, it is peaceful. We had a party of three adults, so we booked one of the adjoining set of rooms, providing the luxury of two baths. Breakfast had good variety of Japanese and Western items, not quite as refined as other comparable hotels during our trip, but quite enjoyable. Pro tip: the coffee machine in the lobby next to the breakfast room makes better coffee than the one in the breakfast room. Overal, great visit. Would recommend."
