We were a bit worried when we arrived that the area outside the hotel was crazy busy and full of loud cars, bikes and music… but we had read a top tip to request a courtyard room and so actually our room was super quiet and relaxing and a nice break from the chaos of fisherman’s wharf. This may be an historic hotel, but it could definitely teach more modern hotels a thing or two about comfort and atmosphere! If you travel to the hotel from San Francisco Airport, beware of taking a taxi - our driver failed to tell us about the out of town surcharge, so it cost us a whopping $150 between three of us!
