"A characterful property. My single room was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The staff were helpful and very efficient. The breakfast choices were abundant; continental, cereals as well as full breakfast etc. The location was ideal with a short walk to the cathedral and shops. My stay was faultless. Whilst there is free carparking, it is quite a squeeze. "

"I stayed at the Westgate pub when in Winchester for work. The staff were friendly, my room was cosy and comfortable, and the food was great. The Westgate felt like a safe, welcoming place to stay and I would definitely visit again. "

"Nice quiet spacious clean room (carpet a bit frayed in places) - just what we needed for a business stay. Good location in quiet street but handy for the town centre."

"Nice spa, nice renovations, shame the steam room wasn't working. The mens showers were cold. But other than that this was a nice hotel experience. The bedroom was a little small but well kept. The bar area and restaurant was well appointed and you can see nice refurbishment work had happened. The breakfast was excellent and worth the money. The location was quite good to access town with a short walk."

"Easy to get to, tasty food. Evening staff both fab, morning person not as much. Bedroom and bathroom lovely size and biscuits/tea generous. Slept well, though the radiators were rather hot and I didn’t know how to turn them down. Evening food delicious but morning breakfast could have been better; toast came out cold. Breakfast is slightly weird in that it’s not a self-serve, you get drinks brought to you from the options you circled on a menu from the previous night. Parking was easy but driveway very bendy and narrow at points! Breakfast staff seemed rather snooty and when I asked for help, she told me that I should have known how to enter/exit the doors with my fob, as I was shown the previous night, when in fact I wasn’t. Overall, a good stay but not sure I’d return based on the above points. Breakfast let the stay down. "
