"So what started off with the rudest front desk clerk I’ve seen in 30+ years of renting hotel rooms. If the reservation was refundable we would have left and found another place. I’m glad we didn’t, the hotel was great, the rest of the staff we saw later was extremely friendly, the showers were amazing and the lobby was great. Only negative part was the woman working the front desk when we checked in."

"Room was good , Our room was on first floor near main entrance so smokers were standing right outside our window. Smell didnt make it into room as window was closed. Still uncomfortable to see people pacing back in forth as they smoked. Staff was more than helpful.. Parking was ok if you were lucky enough to park on property as parking lot was small , otherwise you had to park on street. We were lucky we stayed on a weekend and found a spot near hotel. All in all was ok for the price considering summer rates usually double prices at most hotels in anchorage."

"The hotel has been recently opened and rebranded. The rooms are cozy and quaint. Adorable fridge in rooms and grest coffee in the rooms. Comfy beds, great gym, nice staff, coffee shop and restaurant on site. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping, airport is a short drive. Cons: Very noisy with a train coming through nightly (more than once) there are ear plugs offered at the bedside. The absolute worst (I think 1 ply) toilet paper in the rooms."

"Everything has been great every time we have stayed here except the exact same issue: checking in and checking out. Every single time we have checked in and checked out, we have had to stand there waiting and waiting on an employee to show up at the desk. There is no bell. No way to get anyone’s attention. And there is never anyone standing behind the desk. This is the ONLY hotel I have ever stayed at nationwide where we have to hunt down someone to check in. If that’s going to be the case, why require it at all? Why don’t you just have automated checkin/out like the AirB&B places do so we don’t even have to deal with a person at all? That would be so much easier. I hope this problem gets fixed in the future. It’s really awkward and uncomfortable to just have to stand there with no other option ESPECIALLY if we are in a hurry. "

"Breakfast was fresh and good. Everything was very clean and put together so well, I will be staying there again. Very Inviting. Staff and owner excellent! It is so nice to stay in a historical place that still have the original fixtures and is so very clean and put together. You feel like you're in part of that old history."
