"Great welcome from FoH staff, easy and plentiful parking, large clean and comfortable rooms, corridors clear (but a little hot and stuffy) and room window opened a bit but as next to the flyover/road it was a bit noisy and not a fan of car fumes dirty dust etc. Breakfast selection excellent and super fresh. Two double beds with bathroom £78 ... brilliant Great stop over for using the Millennium Centre to see a show. And wish I'd known if booking tickets to see some shows you get a discount at this hotel if book direct and prove show bookings. Worth knowing for future and will check."

"Room was a good size and was nice and clean (as was the rest of the hotel). The facilities were OK, but the whole hotel feels very tired and dated and not really what I’d expect from a 5 star. The food was fairly standard, no better than the food I’ve had in other 3 and 4 star hotels. Pool looks great in the photos but was extremely busy on our stay. Communication in advance of our visit wasn’t great - I emailed twice to ask a so eventually had to call instead. Parking charges for guests are steep. Not a terrible stay, but not somewhere I’d rush to go back to"

"Hotel was exellent very clean room and lovely power shower fresh towels daily. Hotel reminds ne of scandanavian type in decore. Food was exellent. But starter menue a bit short and bland. Staff were amazing nothing too much trouble very proffessonal and friendly. Spar was amazing 2 thermal pools . Had treatments that were exellent."

"As a seasoned traveller who stays in 20 to 30 hotels a year, I know the Clayton brand well from stays in Manchester, Bristol and London. My requirements are simple: a comfortable bed, a decent shower and a good breakfast. The “Deluxe Double” bed felt small, measuring 4ft 4in on a 4ft 6in base. The bathroom has a fixed shower head over a bath with a shower curtain rather than a modern walk-in shower. The Executive rooms appear to offer the same setup. Breakfast was acceptable, but poor by modern hotel standards. The bread beside the toaster was partially frozen, the fruit selection was limited, and the continental offering consisted of a few slices of salami and cubes of cheese. There was no fresh loaf to slice yourself and no proper cheese or cold meat selection. The location is excellent, and the hotel serves its purpose if you simply need somewhere to sleep. However, compared with other Clayton hotels I’ve stayed in across the UK, it falls short of the standard I’ve come to expect from the brand."
