Hotel needs a makeover, staff need training
Check-in was friendly and explained that I needed to book breakfast and dinner times due to covid. The restaurant staff were always helpful and polite. The food was rather hit or miss unfortunately, the goats cheese and beetroot ravioli was fantastic. The vanilla Crème brûlée reminded me of scrambled eggs.
The room was a bit dated. TV remote did not work needed the batteries replacing. The cups in the room were paper cups not sure if this was due to covid or not.
The big negative from me was on the Wednesday evening at 10:20pm. Reception called my room stating my card has been declined for the room booking can I come and pay for the room. I said no problem and hung up. I checked with my bank to ensure everything was ok no issues. Just as I was leaving the room phone rings again. I answer the phone, I get asked again am I coming to sort out the room booking.
This is terrible service, I arrived on the Monday and I was leaving on the Friday. Why a member of staff decided to make a fuss over a trivial matter late Wednesday night I don't understand. Processes should be in place to sort out payment issues on check-in or checkout not half way through a customer booking.
