"Check in was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and I have stayed at hundreds of hotels across the country. The cleaning staff was excellent, the rooms were great, but the amenities as far as the pool and hot tub were not very clean. The staircase going up to the bar was wobbly and dangerous. I would not book here again."

"This is a boutique hotel, the owner, Kris, was onsite frequently while we were there to greet guests and to make sure everything was running smoothly day to day. The hotel is clean, has a great view of the ocean, there is a happy hour from 4pm to 5pm daily with all you can drink wine and beer complimentary, and a very nice large private beach front. There were some additonal fees that I was unaware of such as renting the cabanas/umbrellas/beach loungers on the private beach, the information on expedia made it seem like these were included in the daily resort fee in which they are not. 2 person cabanas were $35 and then $15/lounge chair to put under the cabana and this fee was from 10am to 5pm so for day. There is also a $20 additonal person fee/day of your stay, regardless of age of the person, we are a family of 5 so even if you book as a 4 person occupancy, they require a wristband at the hotel and you will be charged. Our stay there was nice, but if the resort fee had of included those additional perks I mentioned at no charge, it would have been better."

"This place is a dive. Its old, out dated and the music blaring across the street until midnight was not ideal. To top it off i needed to check out 15-20 minutes late because our breakfast was running late at their Sloppy Joes restaurant attached to the hotel and the woman on the phone told me i couldnt check out late. So rude. Im like so I have to get up right now to get my suitcases even though ive been waiting for my food in your restaurant? I would never recommend this place. "

"I booked a junior suite months in advance. Arrived and was told not available but I was given an “upgrade”. The upgrade was a king room that faced the bar and provided a limited very obstructed view of the ocean. There was simply a bed, tv/dresser, and a chair that pulled out to be possibly twin size bed but was so visibly soiled I didn’t feel comfortable using in any capacity. I asked the front desk how this room was an upgrade and was told “because it’s above the bar”. Personally, that is a matter of opinion and being close proximity to the bar in my opinion does not make this given room an “upgrade”. I asked for literature on the property, amenities, restaurant I was told “it’s all on line”. The internet service was very patchy and generally there was no service available. Henry at the front desk had very poor customer relation skills. I asked to view a jr suite the next day after checking in and was told none were available to even view. Upon walking the property you could see rooms that had curtains opened and most of these rooms had small table and chairs, small couches, two decorative chairs. The main purpose of booking the jr suit I wanted the living room ambience. The king room “upgrade” I was given only had the very soiled chair/twin sofa sleeper. "

"Cons (not very many). Finding the main entrance on arrival is a challenge, especially if you are not familiar with the area. You have to turn a block before what the GPS says. It is on a side street. The shower pressure was low, but what a beautiful shower! The adjoining room door on our side kept slamming all hours of the day and night which we think was a wind tunnel effect between the two rooms. That was annoying, but tolerable. On our last night at about 1:30 in the morning, there was a fire alarm that went off and we had to evacuate. A few minutes later, the hotel maître D came out and announced that it was a false alarm and everything was OK-back to bed. About 10 minutes later, the alarm went off again, and then again! We assumed it was a false alarm at that point. An overhead announcement saying that it was not a true alarm would have been nice. We also got to witness someone being taken out in handcuffs. A surprise as it is much more upscale than that! Apparently someone got a little too drunk and may have been roughing up his wife. Pros: We had a king suite that overlooked the courtyard and the pool and the ocean! Exceptional staff and on check in offered us a complimentary glass of bubbly! We didn’t try the more upscale restaurant but sampled their piña coladas (several!) and best I’ve ever had! The more casual restaurant and pool bar were great. Had a wonderful time despite the weather being rainy, cool and windy 2 of our days. Would love to go back!!"
