I provided a staycation for myself and my daughters. I chose The Congress because I often passed by the hotel on my way to work. athe reviews seemed pretty good so I decided to try it out for myself. We enjoyed our stay and relaxation. I would likely visit again in the future.

Our door was always stuck, very hard to open. The bathroom was really small and tight in our room and had a tub. The hallways smelled from the carpet. Needs a lot of updating.

I love the location of this hotel very close to alot of eating spots and cvs, even late night like 3 in the morning eating spots, Steve the bellman at the front entrance made me and my wife very welcomed to the city, hotel is beautiful on the inside despite being and older hotel, id definitely stay here again for the price and location, rooms are a little small, but if your in Chicago who wants to sit in the room.

The Congress Hotel's lobby is just as advertised...it is lovely. The partial view of the lake we had from our room was also lovely. And, the location was pretty close to everything...including "The Bean." The rooms were clean but the hotel has seen "better days." However, the staff more than made up for the "older" version of a hotel which was "the place to be seen" back in its heyday. I wish I could remember all their names but I did not have one bad encounter while we stayed there for (3) days in July 2024.

This place used to be really amazed but it's gone downhill. I picked it to be close to Grant Park but now I understand why I got such a killer deal with how run down the place has become. The AC in the room was terrible and my choice was low or high cool settings made it tough to sleep along with the b d being marginally softer than a rock. Oh yeah loved all the Ikea furniture 🙄

Everybody was super sweet to me. I loved that there were staff around 24/7 So I never had a problem finding anybody. Every time I came around from being out and about, they always asked me how I was doing. On top of that I thought it was a really neat looking hotel I loved the uniqueness Of the different rooms I had. I don’t need all of the extra fancy things, but you could get room service if you wanted and I’m glad they didn’t update it to look like a basic hotel. Definitely staying again actually I am this weekend.

Our first room looked very nice but had a very strong musty smell and the air conditioning wasn't working well. We called the front desk and they moved us to another room in the other tower. Our second room smelled better and the air conditioning worked but it looked more run down and old compared to our first room.
