Our first time in Charleston; it lived up to the charm, beauty, historical preservation & overall character we had heard about. We could walk to any restaurant & to the harbor. We also could walk to Mass (must see Cathedral of St John the Baptist).

Charleston's French Quarter--the historic part--is quite beautiful and walkable. It was very crowded. Must make dinner reservations in advance 1-3 days. Paid parking everywhere. Lots of one-way streets. Drivable once you get the hang of the layout.

My weekend in Charleston included an air show from the Air Force Base, fireworks on Friday night from a nearby sports event; and a day spent on Folly Beach! Great city! There was plenty to do without being overcrowded like my home city of Atlanta.

Charleston is beautiful...and busy! Parking is expensive in Charleston and an Uber and walking is your best bet to get around. Uber to your destination walk and Uber back. It cost me $7. to park for an hour and 27 minutes. Uber cost me $7.

We were only 25-30 minutes from nice downtown Charleston. Loved the carriage ride in town, very informative. The drive to Angel Live Oak has traffic but it was worth it. Botany Bay and Edisto is an hour away ...worth it.

Perfect city for walking, exploring and dining. Very friendly folks and it's so close to other experiences like the beaches and nature parks. Feels safe and there are fun surprises around every corner.
"Great property and staff. Love the location and safety of the area. Only down side is the bathroom could use better lighting, and a couple of bulbs were burned out"
"It was fantastic! Only issue we had was our toilet gave us trouble flushing. Had to call maintenance twice. I was happy I was staying with one of my best friends with a bathroom situation. I would definitely stay there again."
"The room was lovely, the staff outstanding and a lot of fun ideas (happy hour for all guests every evening, providing rides in their jeep if you needed to go somewhere, and breakfast baskets delivered daily)."
"We stayed at the Hyatt Place in the historical district in Charleston. I researched a lot of places and noticed the great reviews at this hotel, and it was affordable! It did not disappoint! It was conveniently located on King Street so we were able to walk to several places. They also had a valet service that we used when we needed our car, and they were always very prompt in getting our vehicle. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and gave us cold bottled water after a hot day of being out on King Street. I would definitely stay here again."
"We arrived early and were greeted with prompt valet service. We enjoyed the pool while our room was getting ready. Great cocktails and fun atmosphere. Rooms were easy to access and the location of our hotel was nearby a lot of good places to eat and shop. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back."
