"A good hotel, better organisation around check in time would improve ratings, the bed was reasonably comfortable, however the pillows are as comfortable as a park bench , i didnt sleep very well at all, there were two pilliws each, but they were all rather firm. Breakfast was good, plenty choice from cereal , toast, fruit , full english cooked breakfast as well as pancakes etc from the table menu, but there was a 25min wait for those at our time of eating which was @ 9am. Fresh coffee was very nice. "

"Lovely old imposing hotel.only there for 1 night so did not really use all the amenities. Was in a great spot for the town .I asked for a room on the first floor near to the stairs because my wife struggles walking and they greatly obliged. Unfortunately we did not have nice weather but there is a lovely outside grass area at the front with tables and chairs .We had our dog with us so spent the evening in a lovely relaxing lounge bar and had something to eat .Had a good night's sleep and was really quite during the night .would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again ."

"A nice looking hotel but rough around the edges. Only 1 very small, incredibly slow, lift which doesnt cover all floors. This was impossible to use at busy times. The room was super hot, even with both windows open and radiator off. The fan didnt do much except alleviate the stuffiness. The spa was nice, but the lockers are stress inducing so you definitely need the spa experience to help you relax after fighting with them. The bathrooms were 100% designed by men haha I liked the free cookie when we checked in though."

"Very welcoming reception, lovely staff. Room very clean and all essentials there. Hotel itself clean, spaces, lovely surroundings. Breakfast was good, buffet with typical English breakfast, also healthy breakfast available, toaster and white/brown bread, no rolls. Maybe not for some, but Important for me, not variety of morning coffee (disappointing) just instant coffee + milk. In the evening restaurant serves a great meals, drinks and variety of coffee! That means the proper coffee machine is in the kitchen but not using for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall highly recommended I would stay there again."

"We stayed here a few times now and always been great. Staff are always nice and willing to help. Little thing was main meal wasn't good but can't knock our stay, can't be perfect all the time. I would recommend it to stay here "
