The property was nice. Tight quarters in the lobby especially accessing the lifts. Our unit was immediately in front of the elevator door. Not ideal for a larger, more expensive room. I sounded like there was a gym under or over us. The room felt cold and dark. It was well appointed although no iron or much hanging space for clothes. The neighborhood was not nice. It didn’t feel safe especially after dark. The restaurant in the hotel was the best part of our stay. Food was fantastic although the service felt snooty. I think we were just not young enough for this wannabe trendy hotel.

Excellent service - friendly and accommodating. Unattractive building on the outside but quite nice inside. Quiet, located close to things. One negative are people who pester you for money as you walk nearby. Insistent but not rude, nor dangerous in our experience. Food is surprisingly good for a mid-level hotel.

I have been going to Mining Indaba for more than a decade and stayed in many different hotels, including big brand names. Gorgeous George is by far the best I have stayed at in so many respects. However, what perhaps stands out most is the staff. Most hotels have courteous, helpful staff. GG goes beyond this. They are genuinely friendly and fun. The hotel has free access to a top gym, their restaurant is cool and has terrific food. The rooms are spacious and elegant with good amenities. I will no longer be searching around for new hotels in Cape Town. I have found my place and will keep going to GG from now on.

I really loved my stay at this hotel! The hostess and staff were excellent and the hotel itself was quiet and quite easy to access being in the center of the city center. I cannot stress enough how pleasant the staff was!! They really made the stay less like I was away from home ❤️
