"Terrible experience. Hotel is in very bad shape. I was glad to leave. It seems that the owners have the property in a death spiral where they let the property deteriorate while still getting income from the one-and-done guests, cruise ship guests who can walk to the dock, airline staff contracts, the occasional conference, the the unlucky who happen by. Maybe the property is slated to be demolished or maybe their ground lease is expiring or maybe something else is going on that causes the owners not to put money into maintenance and updating. The list of problems is long but here are a few: In the sleeping room, the heating/cooling system would not react to the thermostat. The repair person came to reset it letting me know that it was very old, implied that they had been having multiple problems, and said to let them know when it happens again. The carpet was stained, the drapes were filthy, the chair arms were worn nearly through, the other furniture was old and worn, the shower door was missing a handle, the replacement faucet did not fit the sink. It was so short that you couldn’t fit your hands under the water to wash your hands, and more. The conference room gave me the feel of a dark dungeon, the audio system was very poor, so many of us could not hear the speakers, and the Wi-Fi did not work for the entirety of our conference. I plan to never stay at this property again. Also, about 130 to 150 days per year and I will now look to avoid any Wyndham flag."

"Convenient location, great amenities and wonderful staff… close to so many attractions"

"This is my hotel of choice when visiting San Diego. It is located on Shelter Island adjacent to Point Loma. It's close to the San Diego airport but not subject to the noise of the jet takeoffs and landings. However, during this visit I heard deafening noise from 4 military jets taking off in rapid sequence from the Naval Air Base on North Island across the bay from the hotel. I experienced this twice during my 2-day stay, but this had never occurred during previous visits to the hotel. I suspect these two very brief episodes were somehow related to the Iran war. So be aware and don't panic. Just cover your ears for a couple of minutes. Enjoy the restaurant & bar overlooking the marina. The food, beverages, and service are very good. If you like, you can exercise in the gym or relax in the pool or hot tub. Enjoy!"

"Had a family reunion here a few years ago and came back because that experience was excellent. Unfortunately, we'll be meeting up somewhere else next time. They now charge a mandatory daily resort fee even though this is a downtown business hotel, not a resort. In return, you get a daily credit that can only be used on property. The problem is the on-site prices are ridiculous and nearly three times the local grocery store. I would have rather had that amount added to the base price each day to not have that constant reminder of how I was being swindled by a one-great brand. Or even a resort fee that gave us literally nothing. The fact that they kept making us deal with the pressure of getting a third in value for our resort fee was the worst possible outcome. Plus, they didn't credit us back on our last day and acted like it was my fault when I raised the issue after checking out (they did concede to credit without a fight). Also annoying are the timeshare salespeople stationed right by the elevators. It's impossible to get to or from your room without going through this bottleneck, and they use is aggressively to peddle this same experience at their other properties. It's such a bad look for the hotel and embarrassing if you have guests. The staff response is a shrug and "all the hotels around here are going to do this to you". It's such a sad decline. We may just stop meeting up in San Diego altogether."
