San Diego was so beautiful some 15-20 years ago. Lots of homelessness now in the area surrounding the Moxy. I hope the city council steps in and cleans it up. But if you go to little Italy which is a few blocks from the Moxy, it starts looking better and family friendly, too. The closer you get to the harbor, the better it gets.

The Moxy is a fantastic boutique hotel. The staff is amazing and helpful. The room I had was beautiful--the decor was fresh and contemporary. The bed was very comfortable with crisp linens and plenty of pillows. There is a bar and restaurant in the lobby and a lounge area with comfy chairs and couches, a great selection of books and games, and plenty of places to charge devices. An A experience!

The hotel is in the center of Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego. There are numerous restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel. Petco Park is also within walking distance. Drive time to the San Diego Zoo and the museums in Balboa Park is about ten minutes from the hotel. The staff is very friendly. On the negative side, valet parking is $65.00 per night and the rooms are very small, but cozy. I enjoyed my stay very much.
