Baton Rouge is a great classic southern college town. It's crowded and loud and not the prettiest but generally people are nice and accommodating.

I enjoyed Baton Rouge's Mardi Gras parades. They were more family friendly and less crazy compared to NOLA.

I was in town for the marathon weekend, and always enjoy hitting the sights when in Baton Rouge. (Friends live in the area.) Sometimes parking downtown can be tricky, though visiting the museums and walking around town makes up for it.

Great area! Mall and we tried BJ's Brewhouse which was great. It was pricey, but you get a lot of food. We will probably share next time. The mall is right there too. Easy access to the interstate.

I'm looking into LSU for my son so this is our second time there. Each time we discover something new. Baton Rouge has grown since I was last here as a college student myself.
