Grand Hotel Excelsior Amalfi

"This is not the first time we have stayed there. This will be the second time. We're also going to be going back again in the near future. We've stayed in many places on the Amalfi coast and this one Works the best for us. You just can't beat the view!! It's situated perfectly! This hotel is located on the top of the mountain in Amafi. The hotel has shuttle busses from the bottom to the top that run approximately every half hour to 45 minutes. They also stop their own private beach included and they also have snacks and a bar on the water. The staff is accommodating and courteous at all times. The facility is clean and well taken care of. Their is a Custom Bio design lagoon style pool. Perfect For lounging around all day until you want to their own private beach beach. The beach and shuttles are included so you don't have to worry about paying for chairs on the beach club. They also have an amazing cave at the pool with a bar and lounge area to keep you cool on the hottest days. Almost forgot the breakfast was included in the stay witch was also great. Hands down probably the best hotel for the dollar on Amafi Coast. I'm sure you're gonna enjoy your stay. Frank and Donna"

"Rooms were very clean. Staff was also super helpful and polite. Transport was easy from the airport and to the train station. The hotel is located next to a good restaurant. Just down the steps you are in the small main area with shops and lots of restaurants and a 5 min walk to the beach!! The hotel will even make reservations for you if you want somewhere to eat or if you want a ferry trip. I would definitely stay here again!!!!"

"I had a wonderful stay overall. The property was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The views were amazing, and even enjoyed being away from the busy crowds of Amalfi and was so peaceful. My room was amazing and private, which I loved. Asia was super helpful with everything, arranging the private transportation from and to Naples, helping with recommendations and the best recommendations for a tour to Capri, loved it. Future guests should know that the property is about 30–35 minutes WALK from Amalfi town center, and 10 min buss ride, but it may take a little time to understand the bus system . The hotel can arrange golf cart transportation, but I recommend confirming the price beforehand, since once I arrived in Amalfi from taking the golf cart he tried to charge me double (which I don’t think was the hotel’s fault) Also, be prepared for a lot of stairs—much more than I expected! After a couple of days, though, I got used to it and even considered it part of my daily workout haha. If you don’t mind some walking and want a peaceful Amalfi Coast experience, with breathtaking views, this is a great place to stay. 🇮🇹✨"

Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel

"A truly magnificent one of a kind property overlooking Amalfi port and coast. The medieval monastery setting and the modern hotel amenities blend in very nicely. It’s probably also the largest property, at least from what we saw in amalfi or positano. Couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else."

"We stayed in a junior suite that was very comfortable and had a nice tub for a bath, as well as a shower. The included breakfast was amazing with lots of choices, including bacon and eggs. The front staff were more than gracious and very helpful if you needed any assistance with anything. The location is fabulous in Amalfi as it’s very close to the main plaza and pier area without too much hill walking. Hotel also has an elevator for those that need it for Luggage or mobility. We managed to take the 105 steps up each day instead of the elevator to work off our delicious pasta meals."

"The hotel is well situated on the outside of Amalfi town with good views and in a convenient location. We drove from another part of Italy and the drive was fun, although GPS isn't the best sometimes and its easy to make a wrong turn, so be prepared. The hotel is not for everyone, i would not recommend it to anyone on a budget. However, if money is not an issue for you, this is one of the better hotels. We stayed in the Villa area which is a short golf cart ride away from the hotel itself. Here you have your own private pool area. Our hot tub was not working which wasn't great, but the room was nice. Room was well stocked with welcome gifts and food/drinks and mini bar was good too. Hotel is very romantic, the restaurant is great for dinner, and the lounge before dinner and after is a great place for a drink. We would stay here again if we come to Amalfi."
