"Great place for family"
We love this place. The room is very spacious. My husband, two boys (7 and 3) and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Even with the sofa bed pulled out, there is still plenty of space for the boys to run around. Very convenient location. Walking distance for a 7 year old to most tourist places. A supermarket and a market is closeby. Very convenient when you have small children and wish to prepare certain food at home. Although our booking said no breakfast included, there were milk, juice, a box of ham and cheese, cracker, toast and coffee and tea when we got there. We thought the previous tenant left these things. On our second day stay, we found more of them in the fridge and were told that was the complementary breakfast they prepared for us. What a pleasant surprise! The drawback is that you have to pay for wifi and there is no frontdesk on Sunday. On the Sunday night during our stay, there was a thunder storm in Florence. During the thunder storm, there was no water in our apartment for some reason and I was in the middle of shower. Because there was no front desk, I had to use my canadian cell phone to call the emergency numbers listed on their brochure. But either of those numbers worked. The water did come back after about an hour and half. Overall, we are very happy about the apartment and would recommend it.

"A winner"
Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is a winner. It is along the river and within walking distance of the main Florence site and a couple of blocks away from a bus line. The staff were helped us get familiar with the layout of the area and provided great recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a 'breakfast-included hotel. Clean, safe, comfortable.

"Extremely helpful staff"
The front desk staff went out of their way to help me solve issues with getting money from an ATM (required a collect call to the States) and with getting a new SIM card for my cell phone (and showing me how it worked afterwards). They were superb.

"Plaza Hotel Lucchesi"
We recently spent three wonderful nights at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi in Florence. Our stay was such an awesome experience. Our room, which overlooked the Arno River, was spacious and offered many amenities. The Hotel Staff catered to our every need, including offering an umbrella during an afternoon rain storm! We dined at the restaurant, La Serra, and found the food exceptional. The MaƮtre` d was extremely attentive and provided excellent suggestions. The Lucchesi is located within walking distance to most of the attractions and some of the best restaurants in Florence. There are many excellent shops nearby and it was a pleasure to be able to walk leisurely through the streets of Florence. We would recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again.

"Charming historic hotel, close to everything!"
This charming historic hotel is run by two hard-working brothers. They go out of their way to ensure their guests' comfort and provide many tips for sightseeing and restaurants. The excellent cappucino is a great way to begin the day. The location ensures that you are close to all of the beautiful sights of Florence. It was recommended that we take the walk up to The Piazzale Michelangelo, this was a highlight of the trip, amazing view!! The hotel is in an ancient building, but the brothers have updated, note there is no elevator, but they kindly bring your luggage up to your room. The rooms are small but comfortable. The shower is very small, just be aware if you are tall. Our best experiences in Italy were with family owned businesses and The Hotel Santa Croce was no exception!!

"Excellent Stay!"
I recently visited florence with my husband and parents and choose to stay at the Relais Santa Croce for 3nights and 4 days. To start with our stay was amazing in an amazing location, 10-15 mins walking distance to almost everything in florence. Before I got to florence, I had a phone conversation with Roberto for an early check-in as per my flight. From the moment I reached the hotel,Roberto made sure everything was perfect and we were very warmly welcomed with our rooms ready. He gave us a very detailed explanation about what to see and do in florence depending on the time you are there for. We often asked him for recommendations for restaurants and cafe's and they were excellent . The property is small, beautiful and elegant with an amazing decor. Anything you require the entire hotel staff is forth coming and they make sure its done if possible! For example my dad uses a portable respiratory machine and unfortunately the fuse was over so we required a new 1,and we asked another lady at the reception who was very nice as well, if they could get us a new 1 and as we came back from our sight seeing she handed us the fuse (not a lot of hotels are so prompt with their customer service) Over all me my parents and my husband felt a very warm and loving atmosphere at this hotel, we wish we could have stayed longer.I would recommend this hotel definitely and stay again at this hotel and their chain of hotels around the world.
