Villa Mangili

Via Giuseppe Mangili 31, Rome - Map
Beautiful place to stay in very private and quiet neighborhood. Room, staff and breakfast were beautiful. We were in room 4 or 6 which was on main level behind desk and kitchen so a little loud in morning so request other rooms. Beautiful sitting area outside. It was nice to stay away from crowded touristy areas but it did require a slight walk (10-15Min) to get to Metro (Flamino) station. As a result did discover Borghese Park which is beautiful and would not have seen otherwise. Would definitely recommend, very friendly and helpful staff.

"Modern Hotel in good location"
Hotel was clean, modern and comfortable with a wonderful roof terrace. It is within a 10 minute walk to many of the main sights in Rome. We took the SIT bus from the airport and it was only a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Would definitely return to this hotel if visiting Rome again.

"Excellent location, rooms and service"
Exllent bed and breakfast. Staff take pride in their work and strive to make your stay the best it can be. I would stay there again. Service is top notch. They assist with booking/reserving tickets to the main sites so you do not have to wait in line. Lines can be horrendous at the popular sites such as the Colosseum or the Vatican and tickets to the Borghese Gallery are limited so their services invaluable. Rooms are very clean, well maintained and have wifi. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. I got an omelette, bread, croissant, fruit, fresh orange juice and a coffee. It is delivered to your room at a time you nominate. It is located just outside Ottaviano station and very close to the Vatican. The metro is easy to use and frequent so it is quick and easy to get around at any metro station.

It was difficult to find this hotel. BUT the price was reasonable the breakfast was fantastic and included. The wifi worked. The location was close to the underground so it was easy to get to tourist attractions. AND the best aspect was the very helpful and kind weekend staff. They were so helpful!

"Great to use as an airport hotel."
The hotel is new and in great condition. We booked a family room and had plenty of space and a nice view of the river and boats. There are plenty of restaurants nearby but we ate at the hotel and the food and service were excellent. It was also convenient to visit Istia Antica. The only downside was the pool. They insist on swimming caps which you can hire with towels for five euros. There are recliners but no shade. Overall it was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

"Always amazing"
This is my 6th stay at this hotel and it's always amazing. Walking into our room late at night and having the best view of Rome is always amazing. Pool area is nice. Best breakfast variety I've see in a hotel. La Pergola is one of the best resto in the world. Can't wait until May 2015 for my next visit.

"Excellent location! Beautiful area!"
This was my first time to Rome and my husband's second time. We enjoyed very much our stay because the place is very unique and the people at the administration office are outstanding! Because of its prime location we never needed public transportation or taxi to move around visiting places! The only time we took a taxi was when we went to the airport. One thing I was not pleased with was one of the choices the office gave us for breakfast (cafe "Presidente" ). I was there only twice ( out of 5 days) because the staff was not very friendly at all. Instead we went to cafe"Nero" which is approximately two blocks farther but it was worth to walk the extra distance. Over all it was a great experience and I definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

Luxury on the River

Lungotevere dei Mellini 34, Rome - Map
"Great proximity to most attractions."
This B&B is in a nondescript building along the river. Not having been to Rome, this building's street number is mounted way up high that you wont see it walking on the sidewalk. After walking from one end of the building to the other, I finally found an "LR" sign on he right side of the doorway. The front office is in the 2nd floor for us yankees (1st floor for them as well as on the elevator button) The staff is only available at certain range of hours in the daytime so you need to consider that if you need staff assistance at any hour of the day. Nevertheless they are very friendly and accommodating. We had the apartment suite with the kitchenette which was perfect for a family. Side note: Rome tap water supply has a high mineral content and that white stuff settling in the bottom of the electric kettle is mineral deposit and not what i thought it was, LOL. The other great thing about this place is its location to Rome attractions. Following the river to the right will take you to the Vatican in 20 minutes. Crossing either bridge (Ponte Cavour, Ponte Regina..) will take you to Spanish steps or Trevi fountain instead. Across the river from this hotel is also where the high end shopping area is located. If I'm going back to Rome and get the same package deal from Expedia, I'd definitely take this hotel again without a doubt.
