Linens are dirty, there was one hour power outage in a hot summer day without any backups, bathroom are smelly and shower had no pressure. There is only one lift which is also used to transport cement bags along with customers (to construction area which obviously means noise throughout the day). My wife complained that patrons don’t even use tongs to grab food in the buffet and staff wasn’t enforcing it either.

My new MUmbai favourite.
What a gem! I visit Mumbai once or twice a year, and I have now found my go-to hotel. The location is perfect, the staff were super friendly, the room was bright and clean and the breakfast was amazing. It’s also just round the corner from The Woodside for a pint of White Zen! What more could you want. Massive thanks to all at Suba Palace for a great stay.

Great location friendly staff and clean rooms
Excellent location, you really are in the perfect location for sight seeing and getting around. If you are looking for something upmarket rather look at the trident or a hotel on Marine drive. You are slightly less central but it is more of a westernised area. If you like walking out of your hotel and being walking distance to great local restaurants and markets this is the hotel for you. It's clean and the staff are friendly. You can ask the front desk for a sim card or laundry. Everything is done same day. I would recommend taking a city tour with an external provider.

Hotel is located in an area of town where walking to shops, tourist areas like the Taj, Gateway and bazaar shops are located nearby. Service staff is friendly, kind, accommodating and very helpful. Breakfast buffet is decent with juices and coffee. Don't expect views of Mumbai outside your window! Rooms are small and bathroom shower stall is very small maybe 4x4 square feet with the toilet in same area. Hotel has their own drivers to take you a around town. Overall I'd say 3 Star American standard

This hotel is nicely located in Colaba, less than 2 mins from the Gateway of India and close to other touristic sights. Deluxe bedroom is good size and relatively quiet. The buffet breakfast is generous and of good quality. Nice coffee options from the machine

Great hotel, and great value
All the staff at Suba (security, elevator, reception, restaurant, bell boy) were exceptionally helpful. The interior bedroom, and bathroom were exceptionally clean. The hotel lobby was well decorated and well maintained. I was told the hotel went through renovation recently. The breakfast had ample variety and tasted great too. We also loved that the hotel was ~5 minute walking distance of Gateway of India and Taj Palace hotel. It was also in walking distance of street-side shopping district. Only problem (which is not hotel's fault) is that it is in a 3-lane one-way street, and two of the three lanes were already occupied by parked vehicles so when you call Uber/Taxi then you're blocking the traffic behind you. There was some construction nearby but the windows were well-sealed so we got good rest and not bothered by outside noise.

A satisfied customer
Arrived early hour on New Year’s Day so requested an early check in .We were taken to our room being very tired didn’t take in our surroundings till the next morning.Noticed a damp smell in the room reported to reception they said they would check it out .Within about 15 min they asked us if we wished to move to another room which we accepted all done without a fuss or hassle. Throughout out our stay we found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. The 2nd room was exactly what we expected if not better would definitely stay again .when you travel you can always come across problems but it’s how they are handled that counts . Well done Suba .

The hotel is in great location, about 5 min walk from Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and a good choice of bars and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and the WiFi was great. The restaurant served some amazing middle eastern and Indian food however it did not serve alcohol. The morning I left, they packed a take-away breakfast for me as I had to check out before the breakfast started and offered me a discounted ride to the airport which was very nice. The only issue during the stay was a little bit of noise coming from inside the hotel. I believe it was other guests within the hotel. Overall a great experience!

Wonderful stay

good location in Mumbai, but don't expect luxury
Great location just a minute's walk away from the Gateway of India. There is a great new place just on the corner called Effingut Brewery, which had 11 beers and an international menu. Wifi and breakfast at the hotel were good. We arrived at midnight and checked out the next day at noon. staff were friendly enough and there were lots of them! The porters who brought our bags up to the room were very anxious to show us where the closet in the room was, yet failed to notice a large puddle of water in the room, caused when the mini-fridge had been turned off. We mopped up the mess ourselves rather than call someone up to do it for us. The beds were comfy enough, but the bathroom was in rough shape. The toilet seat was almost ready to completely detach from the bowl, making each sit a scary adventure. The doorknob was broken yet still functional. The couple in the room next door were making a lot of noise, and there was considerable street noise in our room. Because we were exhausted, we slept through these things. Desk staff was kind enough to print out our boarding passes for us. For the price I would stay here again, but I would be unhappy if I had paid any more for this night's stay.

Property was in a good location and clean with. Good buffet breakfast. I did not enjoy one encounter with the fromt desk. I was trying to set up an Ola ride share to the Airport. I asked for their assistance. They were very rude and said they only assist with their ride to the airport. They were charging 1500 rps. Ola and uBer were 500rps. Very poor customer service.

Perfect location
Short walk to the Gate of India, close to the street markets and Taj Mahal Hotel. For us this was the perfect place to stay in Mumbai. Hotel entrance in side street does not look much but once inside and on 1 st floor the hotel facilities are seen.

located approx. 100 meters from Gateway Of India @ one block to the Colaba Causeway.Room was as pictured. Tour offices close by. Most historical sites, art galleries are within 10-15 minutes walking. Also very close are notable restaurants/bars such as Leopolds, Mondegar . McDonalds & convience stores just down the street.. Best of all is the staff--always available to answer questions and provide service (example Nazareth Rodriques). Will book again on my next trip to BOM.

We stayed 2 night in hotel. Hotel location is best . Staff food room cleaning is fantastic. Family hotel . All important places just within 500 meters . Few improvements This hotel itself is not very visible and have very old style lift .so entering to reception will give not much warm feeling however secuirty guards welcome you and take u to right floor. Request to add some view board to make reception is at floor 1. Wifi connectivity is ok ok and can be improved to avoid disconnect between times. Governing rules and facilities mentioned in your voucher need to be informed to get validation else you may get skipped in simple -as a guest you need to ask for your facilities given in voucher Food is slightly at higher side you can explore more near by options . Use Google nearby service to find out nearest tourists places etc. Location of hotel is best as all below is less than 10 min walk Local taxi or by walk you can reach to Gateway of india Place of wheel museums Narimal point Fary to elephant caves NGM N museum Fountain Mariain drive Chowapty beach VT chatrapati shivaji railway station and some with taxi ... Can't beat the location in Colaba near the Gateway to India, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, museums, shops, markets, restaurants. Reasonable value given Mumbai hotel rates. Friendly and helpful staff who quickly helped with a window we could not close. Restaurant is fine, especially for breakfast, and the good eating options nearby would take years to explore. Only real negative for us was the "high speed" wifi, which was slow and required us to be near the door of our room to get a good signal.

My room has faulty TV, despite of that the room was allocated to me and only after so many reminders and communications, TV was replaced during which my privacy was NILL since hotel staffs coming and going.
