Ok but could be better
the family room (3 adults was so tiny that given one chair to sit on would have hardly left room for the luggage! The bedding was off and the mattress was very comfortable for a bunk bed. The toilets sinks and shower areas were clean but afforded little or no privacy.

The hostel is perfect for a 1 night stay. You get exactly what you pay for. The service was great, the lady at the front desk was polite and helpful. Of course its not a luxury hotel, but the room and bed sheets were clean, a bit dusty but for one night it did not bother me. The bathroom and toilets were also very clean. Everything is quite old and the walls are very thin so it is quite noisy, but, again, for 1 night it did not bother me. Overall, if I ever need a cheap one night stay again in London, I would not hesitate to book.

Although the hostel had a lot of guests they cleaned the restrooms just once per day. The cleaning staff did their best but when a lot of people stay there the restrooms need to cleaned up frequently. The dormitory was clean. It was also very loud during the night but the guests were not sensibilized to be quiet in the night. The staff on the reception were not so friendly and not interested in helping and supporting. The location is very good.

This property, while a first glance might have you thinking dissapointingly, is a very decent and perhaps great budget location in London to stay. It's in a nice part of London, and you're not far from the nearest station. The neighborhood feels pretty safe and there are restaraunts galore nearby. I thoroughly enjoyed coming back on the tube each night and settling in. The only problem I could think of with the property were the showers. The nozzles are far too close to the wall, so you really have to press up to wash your hair or face. Definitely book here if you want a cheap stay in London.

A bit dingy with a funny smell but good rooms and a nice mix of people there. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bit full but good that it’s included.

Good location London Eye Big Ben great staff
They were very nice and allowed me to book a private room to self isolate during me first days in London. Not the best breakfast but it is free. Good location quiet and near Big Ben and London Eye!

I've Stayed on and off for 2 weeks. Wonderful location at the boundary of NW and NE. You can go to London centre by tube or bus (I suggest upper deck of bus if you're not in hurry). Generally, it's a great hostel, no smell or small "animals/bugs". There's a low cost laundry at the end of the street if you need one. Just need to get used to the opening hours of the reception and kitchen. Cheers!

The manager was friendly and welcoming but that was it. I don't mind basic, but it should be clean! Only the linen was clean,, dusty, dirty corners everywhere. Unfriendly warning notices about not keeping to your allocated bed etc (very strange). We couldn't open our window! The reception was dark and dingy - nothing like the picture and it was locked (only open 10-11 am and 6-9 pm). I won't be bringing my daughter there ever again!

Thank you for your review. We have signs on dormitory doors asking guests to keep to their allocated beds as this causes confusion for other guests who will go to the bed allocated to them only to find someone else in their bed. This then causes complaints. The room you stayed in was a private room and therefore you were able to stay in any bed in your room. There is no lock on the window in that room and after having just checked the window myself I can see no reason why you were unable to open it. We have cleaners everyday to keep the hostel as clean as possible. In regards to the hours that the reception desk is open. We have had to limit them due to the Pandemic. There is still a pandemic going on and social distancing is vital if we want to ever get out of this nightmare. We have a separate entrance for guests to use when the reception desk is closed so that guests are able to access their bedroom 24/7..

The communication by Richard was excellent, however when I got there the outside was not overly welcoming, when I entered the building it was very tired and could do with a good clean and paint, there was a smell to it too. I was very fortunate to have been offered a room by myself, but I could not stay the night, the room was tiny with a triple bunk bed in, the room and corridor stank of weed and I just felt like it had not been cleaned, there was paint peeling off the ceiling, wall and a huge crack in the wall. The loo had used tissue paper on the floor and only half a loo roll left. The shower had an empty bottle on the floor, I just could not stay here, so had to change my plans and head home after the show I was seeing, plans for the next day had to be scrubbed. Its a shame through the quite time it was not deep cleaned and repainted. I would not recomend.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the beds were comfortable and the linen was clean as well. The only thing was that it was quite far away from the tube station and is quite a long walk from the tube station to the hostel but i would stay there again.

Great location, but the bathrooms are extremely unconfortable, there are no places to put your luggage in the bedroom, the price is really high for what they offer. Also, the check-in is too late, and the check-out too early.

Our check in time is 3pm, however if you arrived beforehand and your room is not ready we have 2 large luggage rooms where we can store your bags for you while you go out and explore London. Our check out time is 10am. If you wish to leave luggage in our store room for the day you are welcome to do so.

The room I booked the beds in was extremely small. Unless you're one for claustrophobia, I wouldn't recommend. The bedside light didn't work and there were holes in the sheet. Asked to know where the restrooms where and was made aware that there was only one toilet and one shower available for both males and females. The kitchen is decently sized, however isn't the most hygienic and the microwave was sitting in a pool of water when we tried to use it.

We have 6 showers and 6 toilets in the London Waterloo Hostel. All guests receive fresh clean bed sheets that we receive from an outside company. I apologize if you had holes in yours. I assume to spoke to the receptionist who gave you fresh sheets. Thank you

Good stay for the price!
The guy at the front desk was super friendly and even helped us figure out times for different things going on in London! The bathrooms were really cramped, but were clean. The showers needed a bit of cleaning, but overall a great stay for the price! Only a 15 minute walk to many major attractions, and is pretty close to work good pubs and train stations.

The staff is friendly. Generally the places are clean. The bed sheet and duvet are clean. The local area is not so good for traveling. The 3 stackers of bed is not good if the top one always moves during sleeping.

London Waterloo Hostel's Detailed Review
Overall a great stay. Location is very good. Bunk beds in large room are clean and big. Power and USB outlets available in each bed for all needs. WiFi was good. Staff was helpful. Common area was good too. Kitchen was spacious and with all amenities. Breakfast was decent. Only thing I didn't like was the bathroom on the ground floor. The drainage was the problem and was painfully slow. Showering took too long because of that. Hopefully the management rectifies that. Would probably come back.

Conveniently located for us to catch our tour near Waterloo Station. Walking distance to Metro and bus routes. Hostel environment is friendly. Room is clean. Staff is knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Breakfast is good value for what we paid. Mainly, kudos to the staff!

Thank you for your review. It is only 2 flights of steps to the top floor of the hostel. Not too much I think. Most of our guests say that our beds a very comfy but I acknowledge that everyone has different tastes. I am glad you liked the free breakfast, the free towels, free lockers, as well as I hope you used the 2 USB sockets at every bedside. Thank you for your review.
