Big hotel with plenty of parking although many vehicles were taking up two spaces because of inconsiderate drivers but still plenty of space. The hotel was clean, staff were pleasant snd helpful, especially the housekeeping team. Room was clean, comfortable, big bed and bathroom facilities were clean. Would definitely recommend abd stay again.

Very comfortable and well cleaned room. Hotel staff were excellent. The evening meals were very good with a great Gluten free pudding!!!

Twin Room booking
We booked a twin room as we were attending a wedding at the hotel, the room was a good size and had all the basic amenities, however as a twin room it was only prepared for a solo traveller and we had to ask for additional toiletries and towels from reception. The bathroom was freezing as no heated towel rail and the only toiletries provided was soap and a shower gel. It would have been nice to have been told this in advance so i could have brought shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was an additional cost and was freshly cooked buffet style which was delicious and a great portion size. Specialist coffee is available but at an extra cost (worth it) The food they cooked at the wedding reception was exceptional as was the dj for the night.

The staff on reception and the bar staff were very helpful and friendly apart from the reception staff on departure on the 26th , we thought she was miserable and abrupt and should not be doing a reception job if she clearly did not want to be there .

Good value at the right price
The hotel is a little tired with worn and frayed carpets and rooms in need of updating and redecoration. Also when it is cold the electric panel heaters are inadequate to heat the rooms and corridors. The extractors do not work in the bathrooms and so you get lots of condensation when showering. The beds are comfortable and the rooms a decent size. The staff are excellent and make this place, they keep it very clean and are always willing to help. If you get it at the right place then it is good value for money.

Would recommend.
Our one night stay at The Westmead Hotel was very comfortable. Our room was spacious, beds comfortable and bathroom clean and functional. Decor is a little dated but very good value.

The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was OK - could do with a bit of attention in the bathroom (mould around bath sealant needs to be tackled). What was irritating was that there was a disco which went on late, and the lack of soundproofing meant that it was intrusive when trying to sleep. It would have been helpful had the staff warned me of this or checked me into a room further away from the disco/party; I'm sure this isn't the first time it has happened (when you book - ask them!). The car park had some discarded beer cans and bottles lying around it, which didn't give a good impression on arrival.

Somewhere to Lay our Head
Perfect location for our needs, the room was clean and bed was comfortable. There was a smell of cigarette smoke on our way to our room which was worrying but the room itself was fresh.

This a standard traditional “country hotel” with with ample space to park. The rooms a clean and the bathroom are a bit dated .

All good!
Good sized room with huge bed. Despite a noisy wedding in the hotel, there was no noise in the room. Bar food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful.

Hotel was innpoir shape. The room smelt musky and the carpet was very worn and really needs to be changed. The shower innthe bath wouldnt drain and the taps were rusty in the bathroom. The food here was awful. For dinner I ordered the lasagne. This was full of large lumps of fat and as a result I ate very little of this. For breakfast i ordered the avocado and eggs on toast. This was false advertising as this was not fresh avocado but rather some cheap guacamole spread thin on the toast. As a result, I only ate the eggs.

Please know that the duty manager would have been more than happy to offer a room move or at least show you some room options; we want all our guests to feel comfortable and for the room to meet their needs. We are in the unique position of having a large variety of rooms and suites that vary in size, aspect and layout, even within the same category, so we feel sure we would have found a room you would have liked. Sadly, the dining options were also not to your liking, especially the Avocado Eggs . Don't take breakfast here
Comfortable large room. Although loud music was playing in the function room the sound didn't carry to the room. Room only and pay extra for breakfast which was a buffet style. The only place I've ever stayed where there was no yoghurt. Not a good choice and basics such as butter quickly ran out, even before the large wedding crowd arrived. Definitely not good value and no focus on those that may want a healthy option for breakfast. Better to get in the car and drive 5 minutes down the road to the service station for breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at Westmead, the only fault I can say about was the breakfast on Saturday morning, It had been kept warm and was not freshly cooked except the eggs, I had trouble cutting they sausages, they were that hard. and I found a couple of hairs in the food. The breakfast on Sunday was a different experience and was good.

Checked out a night before I was due to. Venue is a hotel which caters for events as well. Extremely noisy until late at night. Leaving in the morning found food waste, vomit, broken glass outside main entrance door and car park. If you expect to actually rest there, you will be disappointed.

Noisy - wedding reception - music LOUD at Reception. Bathroom shower drain hadn't been cleaned out for a long time so water drained slowly; bathroom door lock was broken. Dated property - needs some renos. Beds and mattresses were very hard but surprisingly we both got a good night's sleep. We did appreciate the restaurant staff accommodating us for a late dinner when we arrived at 9.30PM. We won't be back, there are better properties in the area.
