"The room had been updated, but the halls and some other areas have definitely seen better days. The room was comfortable and the bed was great. You could easily hear the street noise from inside the room with the windows closed. The lobby is still beautifully maintained. Great location with public transportation and great restaurants nearby."

"Room was clean, and comfortable although quite small. Valet parking was terrible despite being costly, the “free” amenities have a value of perhaps 5 dollars but the “amenity” fee is $25.00. Taxes, non-optional fees, parking costs, etc can easily make the final costs more than 150 per cent of the advertised price for a night’s stay, and lack of a doorman, any bellmen, at most two front desk people, and one valet make this a hotel that has nice rooms and no service and much personal inconvenience. Being hip and cute is not good enough."

"The staff were all very professional and nice from the valet parking, registration, etc. We got a King Size bedroom. We were offered a better option for additional amount but declined. It was one of the older non renovated rooms and I am with, in preserving the character but the closet door handle doesn’t even work. It has the smallest bathroom and won’t fit two people at the same time. The size of the bedroom is good. The mattress is obviously old and hasn’t been changed in ages. The mid section of the bed is angled to the center. It’s a good thing we were only there for one night."

"I really liked this hotel. We booked it for a night in the city, since we had an evening event at Navy Pier. It was a short and easy Uber ride to the pier. The hotel was clean and I appreciated their filtered sink water in the room and coffee, water and popcorn in the lobby. The fridge in the room got everything nice and cold-most hotel fridges aren't the greatest. AC and free clothes steamer in the room worked great. Loved how dark we could get the room with the curtains closed. Cleanliness and customer service was top notch. My only 2 complaints were the overpriced (but they were delicious) snacks I purchased from the lobby, however, that is expected. I should have grabbed free popcorn earlier before they put it away for the night. They also only had 1 elevator working, which was a little inconvenient, but not even that bad. That should be fixed once the reno is done. I had a great stay here and recommended it to others. I always felt safe, even with it being in a busy area. I didn't try the restaurant, but it looked great!"
