A party destination on Pattaya’s most famous road, packed with international restaurants and late-night go-go clubs.
Walking Street is Pattaya’s original party road, and the place to be if you’re looking for a good time or want to enjoy watching others having fun! Grab yourself a drink at one of the restaurants lining the streets and enjoy some of the best people-watching in Thailand as visitors from all over the world mingle with the music, the mayhem and the scantily-clad bar girls.
There’s also a dazzling array of street food on offer to tempt you, or you can dine out at one of the seafood restaurants along the street. After you’ve satisfied your hunger, head to a Muay Thai boxing match to find out why it’s known as "the art of eight limbs", or just drink and dance to your heart’s content at one of the many bars and clubs. There are go-go shows and cabaret clubs galore for those looking for something a little more risqué.
Walking Street stretches 1.6 kilometres through the city, and is fiercely proud of its party reputation. The bars, restaurants, nightclubs and massage parlours change almost as often as the visitors do, keeping the experience interesting.
Walking Street really comes to life after the sun goes down. Dusk is the best time to come here just as the restaurants are getting busy. Many of the nightclubs don’t really pick up until after midnight and then they stay open until the early hours, so prepare for a long night ahead if you want to see Walking Street at its raucous, misbehaving best!
The area is safe on the whole, but it’s worth keeping in mind that the area is frequented by pickpockets, and bar and taxi scams are also not unknown. Stay alert and make sure you communicate clearly and with a smile at all times.
You can take a taxi, scooter or tuk-tuk to Walking Street, or leave your car in the car park at the southern end of this area.
