"We stayed in Wantilan 6 and it might be the most stunning view I’ve ever had in a hotel. The staff were incredible, quickly learning our names and always willing to help no matter what we needed. The room itself was slightly underwhelming. Poor lighting, lacklustre air-conditioning and we really weren’t fond of the natural holes in our timber flooring within the shower. They also failed to supply any bathroom extras you’d usually expect in a 5 star hotel - like cotton buds etc. although I suspect they would have brought us anything we requested. Sometimes it’s nice to have them in the room though. Upon checkout we were given access to a spare vacant room to shower before our 11pm flight which was an exceptional extra. I’ve never had a hotel offer this and it truely impressed me. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel. Not sure it hits all of the 5 star marks you’d expect but if you’re into insane views, sustainability and staff who go the extra mile, then you’ll love Suarga."

"Beautiful hotel inside and out in walking distance to a beautiful beach. The resort has it’s own swimming pool and lounging area. A free breakfast buffet and free airport shuttle was nice. Wonderful staff. Spacious room. There’s a upscaled restaurant on the premises called “Envy” that serves excellent meals. I would definitely stay here again."

"Very cute hotel! The property is in great condition, the pool is great. The rooms are nice! The bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner but for the most part everything was nice. Staff are great, we stayed for 5 nights and could’ve stayed longer. Quiet as well. "

"Beautiful property, but the stairs to get there are no joke. Don’t bring a crazy amount of luggage, you’ll be huffing and puffing even without it. However, the view makes it worth it. The staff at this property are amazing. I needed a room change because my room was super hot and the AC wasn’t working, and without any hassle they changed my room and gave me a beautiful one."

"Firstly, upon arrival, there were no staff present to complete our check-in. We were left waiting to be addressed for 10 mins. In addition, we noticed a sign stating that there would be construction between 9am-5pm; it stated that the construction had no relation to Makara Villas. We came to find, it was in fact, the villa across from ours in the complex. This was unbeknownst to us as there was no mention of construction prior to making our booking. Next, we were guided to our Villa by Putra. Firstly, a staff member was laying on the lounge, on his phone. The cleaning was inadequate incl staining on the bed, bed base & sheets. To our disgust, there appeared to be blood stains on the headboard in addition to dirty footprints, loose hair & stains on the couch. A foul odour throughout the property due to an incredible amount of dead bugs and mould falling from the airconditioning unit onto the floor. This does not meet health and safety standards. As a result, we felt no other choice than to check-out & source alternative accomodation. Once home, We contacted Expedia attempting to rectify the matter, we had requested a full refund. Unfortunately, however, both Makara Villas and Putra the Manager, have failed to respond to any form of communication to resolve the issue. Putra claimed to have offered us an alternative room, this simply did not occur as no other villas were avail at the time. Overall, our time at Makara Villa was a waste of travel & money. Do not recommend staying."
