"Beautiful older hotel with lovely gardens set on the lake with fantastic views of the lake from the bar and outside patio, comfortable slightly old fashioned in a good way, staff were excellent, helpful and welcoming. Would stay again. "
"We enjoyed the excellent location and view from the hotel as well as the good quality breakfasts and on two nights evening meals in the Waterhead Inn bar which is part of the whole package."
"The room included parking and breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good location for Ambleside and getting the boats to other parts of the lake. Lovely clean room, good bed and bedding. Breakfast was hot and cold buffet and very good as were the evening meals."
"A very quiet peaceful break away food was very good the staff were friendly and welcoming. Located right on the lake so views were amazing lovely clean room would highly recommend a visit."
"Although this property was clean and presented well, I was disappointed after paying nearly $300 that there where no toiletries other that pump soap and no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Also the room was so hot as was the hotel itself. One plus the pool was clean and well kept. Room service was poor."
"As in previous reviews, no internet connection. Strangely able to get netflix on both bedroom tv’s but not on the main one.
Lovely living space & bed very comfortable. Good location on site and all areas of park dog friendly. Would return.
Could possibly get better quality frying pans. Both warped when using. "
"The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere.
The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. "
"Luke's Hoose felt really homely as soon as we opened the door. Great views from the elevated living room, looking over the town and hills beyond. So close to the main street so was easy to access all the shops, bars etc."

"Lovely hotel and surroundings, parking was a bit of a distance away. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and service in the bar and restaurant. Staff were great! Would love to go back and stay a little longer !"
"It was our first time visiting the Lake District, and our trip began with a stay at Cragwood Hotel. From the moment we checked in, the staff were so kind and helpful. To our surprise, they upgraded our room and even walked us there personally. The room was absolutely amazing—spacious, elegant, and felt almost like staying in a castle. We arrived at sunset, and when we opened the door, the view was breathtaking. It was such a peaceful, comfortable start to our trip, and really set the tone for a wonderful experience.
We also had dinner at the hotel, which I would highly recommend. After checking in and relaxing, we went to the restaurant and were seated by the window. The dining area only had around five tables, which gave a sense of privacy and space between guests. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and even surprised us with an extra sorbet. The food was absolutely delicious—something we won’t forget."
"Hotel changed my room to a lodge due to health reasons as a last minute. Couldnt have been any more greatful. The views and grounds were stunning. The staff where great and attentive. Cleaner added extra coffee and milk for 2nd night which was also a great and tidied the room to a high standard. Room was dated, however this added to the overall experience of peace and tranquilitiy which is what i was looking for.
****Highly recommend this hotel and will be visiting again ***"
"Best spa i have ever been to. Been to alot of spa's up the north of england but this one blows them all away, low wood offers a budget and more exclusive packages that suit your needs. All areas were clean to a high standard and the on site resturant and bar are a bonus. Breakfast was more than what most places offer. "
