"We had an excellent room with views of the water and mountains. Check-in was great with Hugo. Rooms were very clean and bed and sheets were five star. A couple things happened while we were there, one of them was our phone ringing at 6:43 AM, and then again a few hours later. And also the maid service knocking on our door, even though that private light was on. Outdoor jacuzzi area closed but resort fee still charged. When we checked out, we addressed a few things and the employee at the front desk didn’t seem to care nor did he apologize. Otherwise, everything was very good. The rooftop deck for drinks was incredible. However, service was quite slow. Will try it again though.,"

"Great location to the beach and the Promenade for shopping. Valet parking cost is reasonable and what I loved was the staff had umbrellas on stand-by for us to use because it was a very rainy weekend. "

"Our room was very clean. Good location, an easy walk to shops, restaurants and Santa Monica beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building is old, and definitely needs more updating (at least in the room we had). There’s a nice little patio area, the lobby is neat and welcoming, with a fireplace and nice sitting areas. Free basic coffee in the morning(a nice perk) with small cafe items/limited breakfast for a fee. You can tell this hotel is trying! Here’s the downside: it’s old, and our room was on the first floor and we heard everyone up above. Showers were noisy, people using the stairs and coming in & out of rooms—-could be quite loud. We could even hear folks in the lobby and office from our room. If you’re a light sleeper or used to quiet hotels, probably not good place for you, at least on the first floor. While the room we had did have plenty of space, the furnishings didn’t make the most of it. No luggage racks or benches for luggage, the room certainly could’ve fit a king bed easily, but the queen we had was old and not a comfortable mattress. The pillows were really flat—-please update these at the least! And our room was really dark, we had a nice sized window too, but the old sconces just did not cut it. Definitely need additional lighting especially in the bathroom. On our final night at the hotel, while we’re trying to get to sleep for an early morning flight, the ceiling in our bathroom stated leaking—a lot! Right near the light fixture. "

"We had a great time staying 5 nights at the Fairmont Miramar. We had a wonderful spacious suite. We enjoyed the fitness area, spa & pool. The food at The Fig was delicious. Gil & Dillon made sure we had everything we needed poolside. Good service from all the staff. Housekeeping, Room Service, Bartenders, Waiters/waitresses were all very nice. Jordan, our main concierge was extremely helpful with any request we asked of him. We were impressed with the entire resort."

"This was our third visit to the Santa Monica Proper and we look forward to returning. The building and furnishings are beautiful and the rooms are welcoming and comfortable. We love the food at the roof top restaurant and enjoy lounging in the beautiful setting around the pool. The staff is great- helpful and accomodating. We also love the location- walking distance to charming cafes and the beach. "
