"Staff wonderful, very friendly, very helpful. Pillows and soap in room lovely. We had a family room and bathroom was very small and tv did not work. But great location and very tasty breakfast."

"Location was excellent. Very close to Victoria street. Great access to the castle, royal mile and restaurants in Grassmarket. Room was just okay, the floor was so loud you could hear everyone walking by and if your partner went to the restroom. The shower had a small glass half door so water got all over the floor when taking a shower. The pool and sauna was a nice add. The room view I purchased didn’t look like the picture. Had very large windows and the room we had just had one smaller window, you could see the castle just not as pictured in the room we were given. You can’t control the temperature of the room so that was a downside. They provide a small fan but sometimes it got really hot. Didn’t eat at the hotel so no opinions of the options. "

"Staff are excellent. TV never operated properly. Called maintenance 3 times and gave up. All the room lights came on during the night and woke us up twice. Despite ongoing maintenance issues staff did nothing other than apologize."
