Clean, friendly staff, and while it is on Princes Street, the rooms are very quiet! It is extremely close to the train station and less than a 10minute walk to the Royal Mile. Great hotel!

The Mount Royal is located right in the heart of Edinburgh within walking distance of the train station, bus station, most museums and the Royal Mile. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, with beautiful views of Old Town right outside the floor to ceiling windows.

This hotel is within easy walking distance from the train station, right on the main avenue, in the direction of the museum and across the street from the park. The plus factors for us also included a room with a view, air conditioning [it was unusually hot during the daytime] and windows that open if you prefer the night air, a large desk and a small sofa, The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. It was important to us that it has an excellent restaurant for dinner, and the included breakfast was packed with variety. There are 2 large, modern elevators, a bar as well as the restaurant, and friendly staff.

Room was fine, though the window opened to a rooftop that was undergoing renovations with a pallet of flammable material sitting right next to the window. The place was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Great location and perfect for single travelers. Unfortunately the boiler was out during my stay, and the breakfast/dinner options were limited as a result. Dinner was pricey, especially given the limitations.

The location of this hotel was perfect for walking distance to many of the Edinburgh sites. It was easy to get to from the airport by taking the tram. The only thing I would have liked was a bigger room and view that wasn't overlooking the heating units and rooftops of other buildings. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was delightful, and I would definitely stay here again.
