The weather was extremely hot. Ridiculously hot. I think it was the hottest day in Oxfordshire for about thirty years, and it was more-or-less impossible to get the temperature in the room down to something reasonable. But with that sole exception, everything about the hotel was really very good indeed, and I would happily go there again. In fact we are considering going down there sometime cooler for a naughty weekend, maybe in the autumn when it's cooler.

We had a lovely one-night stay at House 41 while visiting Aylesbury Theatre. The room was spotless, warm and welcoming, making it a lovely place to relax after our evening out. Helen, the owner, was absolutely lovely and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked, delicious and the perfect start to the day. Great location for a stroll into Oxford. The breakfast was beautifully cooked with really good quality ingredients. Our room (No6) was at the rear on the first floor and not enormous but vey comfy and spotless with everything we needed. We were more than happy with the rate charged, particularly as we were able to park our car on site and not worry about expensive city centre parking. The staff were great and we plan to return to stay again very soon. Thanks for a great weekend!
