"We arrived early but our rooms were not ready until much later than 4:00. We ended up waiting for over an hour in the lobby, which was not the best but we were able to review the art pieces. We did not start with the right foot. The rooms were very large but unfortunately we got them on the side of Bay St. and it was pretty noisy outside. The location is great. Very comfortable bed and very strong shower."

"Hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. Any type of cuisine you could want is within a 10 minute walk along with lots of restaurants serving up local fare. Staff was super helpful and for a hotel that is over 100 years old, it was very well kept and clean. Only complaint is that beds are full size, not queen so be sure to pay close attention when booking. I did not and found it difficult for our party of 3 to sleep in only two beds. Staff was amazing about bringing in a twin size roll away when I asked for one... but it unfortunately was also very uncomfortable. And the Starbucks was closed. Those are my only complaints. Otherwise hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. We were only there for a weekend but we really enjoyed our stay in Charleston."

"The commode in the room was not flushing when we arrived. I called and let the desk know. They dropped a plunger off at the door for me to take care of the problem! It was an ongoing problem all weekend. I continued to let the front desk know and they just said they would note it. Also the AC wasn’t working properly. It was set on 62 but the room temp remained at 76 or above."

"My husband and I stayed here for a quick overnight. Location was perfect and loved the happy hour and free breakfast. Rooms were great mix of historical and modern. Very comfy bed. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner (hairs in bathtub and on walls), but was suitable for one night. Would recommend."
