The hotel is pretty central and as close to the town centre as most of the other less expensive hotels. My room was comfortable and clean apart from a thick layer of grime on the inside of the window. The hotel is old and could do with some new carpets and a paint job.
The parking is in the adjacent NCP car park which is very close and cheap (less than £10 for a two night stay). Be aware that the car park is closed and not accessible from 10pm to 5am. Breakfast was fine.
The main weird thing about the place is that reception is hardly ever manned. Not when I arrived and at other times. I had to wait with several other people to check in until somebody came in who knew the place and found a door and shouted for someone. There was a notice to ring a number for help. I called it and the phone on the reception desk in front of me rang! I had an issue with my key card. The feller who helped me was great, friendly and helpful and fixed the problem but I had to go and fetch him out of the kitchen 3 times as there was nobody in reception when needed.
Because of that, I would probably book elsewhere next time.
